Any developers want to hack the Q to do device mirroring? Or create an app to do it with the Q? I’m not that technical but if any of you are and it’s possible. Please do it ASAP! I’d pay for that app for sure.

I bought mine for 200 on ebay from a developer at the I/O. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now. I’m loving it. I just hope they soon make it where I can stream anything to the Q instead of JUST google play items. I know they are pushing this whole play thing a lot but I mean, I’d love to get pandora over it.

Google has been giving grants to people and youtube channels to create channels that will one day, hopefully, compete with television and networks. People like Chris Hardwick “the nerdist,” and felicia day and many others have been given these google grants to develop these channels on youtube. It might not take off, but it is the first step in this endeavor of making a competing online network that might one day rival networks and television. And the Q is a first step/ generation device to help back it and get that media out there. I’d say they need marketing for it now, top notch marketing.

This is why most of Google’s products will never succeed. I bought the Revue for 79 dollars, would never had paid full price. While they are adventuresome in their products, most of the people who would use them are cheap. Also most are half baked and slow to take hold.

It’s got the guts of a Galaxy Nexus too, minus the radios, but with a 25 watt amp. From a hardware perspective that’s not bad.
I don’t think it’s going to be a huge volume seller, but it could be one of those gagets that gets people to think about their media in a new way – store it all on the cloud, and stream it wherever you go. Kind of like the first iPod, put it all in iTunes, and bring it wherever you go on the iPod. Lots of people thought that was a terrible mistake too, that it was way overpriced, and why would anyone need that much storage on a music player? It’s a different way of thinking about storage, instead of bringing an album to your friend’s house to play, you bring your entire colection.

Haven’t heard much on the hacking side since someone got pong up and running on it.
Here’s what I want to see: get a fully functional version of Android up on the screen (just stream from a N7 or GNEX) and get the Q to work with the Microsoft Kinect so that you can control on screen actions like you control Kinect games. Kills two birds with one stone: makes both the Q and the Kinect something more useful and interesting than they were before.
