I also thought about that and i was looking into ways to stream tv to the pocket tv and i think it sould work with the slingbox or hauppauge broadway.

To be fair, though, there are enough streaming options available to make this pretty attractive. If you’re running HBO GO, TWC TV, MLB At Bat, NHL Gamecenter, Watch ESPN, and Hulu Plus it might not be too shabby.

I was excited when I saw this, but my biggest fear about it ended up being true… This doesn’t turn your TV into a ‘smart’ TV at all. To do that, you’d need either a TV tuner built into the dongle or an HDMI pass-through like the Google TV set top boxes have.

This is really no different than just running an HDMI cable to a Galaxy Nexus. Not bad for the price… but not really what it claims to be, either.

I got the hdmi / hmi adapter withan hdmi cord for $30 that connects and mirrors my gnex to my tv so i can use some games and my browser and web content straight to my tv. I don’t see the difference since a lot of phones can do this for you already.

it is a thumb drive by definition, and not a pc by definition. a pc consists of a system unit, monitor, keyboard, and mouse with ports that connect peripheral devices. stop trying to argue semantics, you’re making something simple sound like you have no idea what you’re talking about.

I’ll be the first one to criticize Google TV, but at least the idea was right. Integrate a device and services with the SAME INPUT and EXPERIENCE with your TV, not a separate input and experience.

This will fail with the other 3000 Android TV USB devices (cotton candy, etc).

I hope this is not advertised in the same way to the general public as it is being presented here. The “Turn Any Regular TV” part is not at all true. There are many people still using television sets that do not contain HDMI ports. I can see many older people who don’t have the best understanding of today’s technology purchasing this thinking that they will be able to turn their old sets into “Smart TVs.” Not so.
