  • Erkleehoo

I played with one today, it has more than 2 Verizon Apps, just so you’re not shocked. Can’t wait will be there when they open the doors tomorrow!!!!

    • babadush

What other apps are on it

    • QtDL

I hope those extra apps were there just because it was a demo…..we will see tomorrow I guess.

    • Anonymous

      Seriously?  What was on it?

    • Anonymous

I played with one on Sunday and I swear I only seen 2 Verizon apps that can be disabled, and I messed with it for like 10 minutes at a Bestbuy..

  • Tom Stock

    It’s about freaking time!

  • Anonymous

Now I only have to find $650…

  • im getting this phone but i really dont feel good about it cuz verizon ruined it ……

  • Anonymous

Link to the press release pretty please?

  • Anonymous

  • Ahokin

Do u guys think if I got at my giant VZ store at 2:30 PM they would have some left?

    • Anonymous

i guess it depends on where you are. i am in winston salem nc and the big store here had 95 in stock and they only had 6 appointments. i made my appointment at 5 tomorrow night and they said i will be fine. i got to play with it… amazing… no lag and it is so light and thin.

    • Most definitely. This thing isn’t advertised and aside from tech blogs, isn’t that popular.

    • Anonymous

maybe…if they don’t, look for another verizon retailer in the area…radio shack, best buy, etc…

  • Jukboxhero

hey does anyone know about best buy? called my local one and all the girl could tell me is to check back tomorrow…

  • Anonymous

Just a reminder for the Southern California residents. They open at 10 am, not 9. At least the one’s in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

    • djjsin

i am confirming this.  the store manager i talked at my local los angeles store said they currently have no plan to open early like on other launches.

He said compared to all the other phone launches this galaxy nexus launch has been really screwed up and left them scrambling.  Usually they know by monday if a phone is releasing that week, all materials are sent, they are sent the line barriers.  But with this phone, all they have is the phone.  nothing else that they would have for a “launch”

    • same in Vegas

  • Mark Wilk
  • Deiler

    Wait, no SD card storage?

    • theraskell

Where have you been? This isnt new info dude

  • amotamatapia

Does anyone know whether if I have 3 phones (OG Droids), that 2 of them can be upgraded to the Nexus while the third one waits for the Droid4? Thanks

    • Darthseph23

I can’t see why not.  You may not be able to purchase 2 GalNex’s at the same time though tomorrow, since it is a launch day.

Upgrades are per line, not per account so their shouldn’t be a reason they can deny you an upgrade.  They can deny more than one GalNex to a person if they want due to supply and demand and wanting to spread the phone around and open new accounts at launch however.

Note I never mentioned that was a smart sales idea.  It makes some sense though.

    • I can confirm that upgrades are transferable between lines, if thats what you’re asking?

  • I can finally put my OG droid into retirement.

  • Anonymous

What time you think BB would have this?

    • Anonymous

call your local one at 10 am and find out 🙂

  • Urugami

I’ve got an appointment at 0900 at the local corp store!

  • Balticzar

Wow, I actually thought I was going to be overly excited about this. But considering delay after delay, this announcement rings hollow. I’ll eventually get one I’m sure. But…I’m so infuriated about the delays it’s not even funny. I’ll mosey in there sometime before the end of January. This Thunderbolt seems to be holding strong. I’m usually an early adopter but I think I’ll wait to monitor the reviews from our community.
    My jubilance has waned.

    • Rashad Gattis

whatever man, you will be in there tomorrow picking it up like everyone else that has responded to this announcement…

    • Anonymous

if you weren’t going to get one till the end of january then why even care about the delays?

    • Anonymous

There was only one “official delay” and that was from the 9th. You just assume there was delay after delay because you assumed all the prior rumors were true. Stop bitching, keep your thunderbrick your only hurting yourself. All of us will be sporting our brand new G-Nex tomorrow while your still crying about delays. Get real dude…

  • Hol-ly-fuck.

  • Hallelujah! I jizzed my pants!

    • The only thing sweeter if I were to have that $100 off for any phone! I think I only get me $30 NE2 🙁 Oh well, better than nothing!

    • Anonymous

      See what I mean?

  • Anonymous

wow. Finally. It’s over. Thanks Droid-Life for keeping us informed and strapped in – it’s been a hell of a ride. Keep up the great work.

  • djjsin

Verizon store just called me!! the UPS truck JUST got there, and dropped off PLENTY of phones.  They will definately be available at the store tomorrow.

  • Anonymous

YESSS!!!! now i can stop checking this site 200 times a day!!! WOOO!! ill see all of you guys next year for the next nexus ahah ^_^

  • swung by my local Verizon Store and they said they dont have any in stock but will have them in the morning. They are such Liars in the store. I would rather buy online but dont want to wait for delivery. They also charge +$20 for early upgrade at the store. Whats up with that?

  • Cant wait to hold it in my hands, decide that I dont like it and buy the Bionic anyway…

  • Awesome! can’t wait! just tossed my iphone 4 in the garbage. Who is buying this full retail price?

  • Customers can find them at all verizon stores. Bullsh!t. I just called 4 verizon wireless corporate stores and not one has it in stock. They still have time to receive shipments today, but doesn’t look like it.

    • djjsin

the two stores close to me in los angeles are saying the same thing.  They still dont even know if its releasing tomorrow.

      • I was just at one of the Verizon stores here in Daly City and i heard one of the workers there talk to someone on the phone about the galaxy nexus saying they can’t hold one for them and they needed to come in tomorrow to get one.

        • ssjnimma

I called the only two stores we have in my town and they will not hold the phone, and also said they currently had non in stock, but showed shipments arriving tomorrow and would call me to let me know when they got it in.

Also called RadioShack and they also had none in stock and also could not hold any….

Did not try Walmart all though that could be another try….

    • QtDL

Try asking for the manager at your local corp store. I only dealt with the manager at my local store and she had no problem holding the phone and accessories for me. It’s been sitting on hold for me for a week now….finally glad I can pick it up tomorrow!

  • Anonymous

i’m surprised. i didn’t expect this to be released before christmas. i would have figured verizon would delay this phone till after christmas so people would instead buy a razr or rezound; they want people to buy a phone with bloatware instead. verizon logic.

I think they had issues with the 4 LTE network and didn’t want to release their flagship 4G phone until they were sure everything was up to par.

  • Anonymous

    Great Success.

  • Mike

How do i switch VZ phones?  do i need to go into the store or can i swap sim cards?  I have a Tbolt that I want to unload on craigslist

    • Anonymous

You’ll need a new sim for LTE phones.  So yes, you’ll probably need to go in.

    • Anonymous

As for the unloading… I hope you have better luck than I did when selling your Bolt.

    About freaking time!

  • Harryballs1234

Thank God I won’t have to hear about this phone again!

    • Anonymous

you’ll be hearing plenty more about it after its released

  • Jason

i just called my vzw store and they say it was pushed back again,  hope the GOD she was wrong

  • whats the difference between getting it from a premium retailer and a corporate store?

    • 2Ceedz

In my experience premium retailers SUCK!!  With a corporate store you can use *611 or ANY corporate store… with retailers (here) you must use that exact store (or franchise).

  • I just peed a little.

  • This announcement probably saved the life of an animal.

  • Taha Sheikh

Wonder if Amazon will give a discount tomorrow…

  • Just in the nick of time. My OG Droid has been restarting and turning off by itself. Just did a clean factory restore yesterday because I was afraid the Nexus would be delayed yet again. Will be at the VW store at 9am sharp!

    • Chris G

I haven’t been able to receive calls for 2 weeks on mine.  I can’t wait to upgrade tomorrow.

      • 2Ceedz

Mine decided today to just start calling random contacts… LOL…  Thank God for the GNex and Custom Roms!

    • 2Ceedz

Whats that… that you cannot get it online until 1:00AM ?

      • i think he means that its a joke because they arent even advertising it, idk i might be wrong

  • Maguiz2001

I just went to a store and confirmed with th erep. He told me come tomorrow. He showed accessories.

  • Anonymous

any solid details on accessories? looking to use my living social on the portrait dock if i can.

  • Fitnessguy06

Does this phone have a SD slot ???

    • nope

    • shdowman

Not trying to be rude….but REALLY??

  • just called my local verizon and they are holding one 🙂

  • Anonymous

  • Dubbyagee

I used to have an OG Droid, then I took a Galaxy Nexus to the knee…

  • Anonymous

I refuse to upgrade from those greedy bastard at Verizon, i’ll buy it out right, no contract! Even though that Best Buy 39.99 dollars buy back deal was not bad. Whats the news on the battery life, cuz i’m almost ready to break my OG.

  • FortitudineVincimus

Thank you God, not because I want one – though I am up for renew but plan to pass – but more because I am TIRED OF ALL THE BITCHING AND ENDLESS RUMOR STORIES!!! IT ENDS NOW!!!! Yippieeee

    • 2Ceedz

Really, you just wasted some of my life… comments like yours (and mine here) WILL BE FLAGGED… hopefully (oneday) the mods will just kill all the irrelevent comments… Droid-Life does have forums for that you know…..

I swear i spend an hour a day to flag all these useless comments…as there are some that are VERY helpful…

Dunno what trolling is or anything, but if you dont have anything constructive or nice to say… keep it out of the comments.

Isnt there enough email spam, we dont need it filling the comments here?  We are all here for info, why waste your time and mine to post these unneccessary comments?!? (and make me flag all these comments – and now im even replying to one).

Wow, between this and VZW feel like ive wasted a month of my life… LOL

THANKS DROID-LIFE… Keep it up, we are all here for VZW/DROID news and rumors!  [And droids have been going downhill since the DROID was released 2 years ago]

      • Brad

i just flagged you infinity times. you needz a break from the interwebz.

  • Just paid for mine…Sweet baby Jesus

Anyone have experience ordering online? I’m considering going that route in the event that the store in my area is sold out. I’m in the central timezone, so I should be able to order one at midnight here. If I do so, will I definitely have the phone by Friday?

    • QtDL

Yes overnight shipping is usually free but you must be there to sign for it wherever you get it delivered so have it delivered to work if that is where you are going to be.
