Comments on: Galaxy S II on Verizon Dubbed Fascinate II?

I know this is an older thread, but I have some solid info on the SGII. It will be LTE. It WILL have a slide-out qwerty, and the screen is 4″. I was messing with one this weekend. I tried poking around in the menus to find out the specs on the cpu, but found nothing. There was no “Hardware Info” under the”about phone” menu.I did notice it is running Android 2.3.3. The phone feels nice in the hand. I held the SGII up to my Incredible 2 and found it is about the same hight and width. It’s maybe 15%-20% thicker due to the qwerty. It doesn’t look like other SG devices. The phone is more cuved on the top and bottom than other SGs (lools more like an LG device honestyl) and no more home button. I’ve been trying to get pics, but I can’t seem to get alone with it long enough to sneek some shots. All of this I will stake my DL reputation on.

How long did it take for Samsung to release froyo for the first Fascinate? If it took that long for Samsung to release froyo, just imagine how long it would take for Samsung to release Ice Cream Sandwich?

Well whatever mobile phone hardware shows up in the VZW inventory this fall, had better be ready to deal with whatever the fruit munchers in Cupertino, have dreamt up. SGS2, Bionic, Optimus etc.

ha yeah because the only samsung that was leaked with a keyboard had lte. Nice try though and I probably wont even buy this but its nice to see a good troll.

It isn’t significantly faster, but yeah, the OMAP in the D3 is definitely the 2nd most powerful SoC, behind the Exynos. And based on benchmarks, the OMAP might be even more powerful, but there’s no way to be sure until it’s OC’d to 1.2ghz. I’ve had a D3 for a few days now and this phone just doesn’t slow down.

Would make sense, but carriers want the phone to be slightly different hence the need for different names
