Download: New Android Market Version 3.0.26

The new Android Market that was just announced is now available for download.  It will only work on phones running 2.2 or higher, but should install right over the top of whatever market your device has.  And as you’ll see in the gallery below, it’s exactly what we saw in the preview video that Google released earlier.  At first we were questioning the WP7 styling, but we’re ready to take that back.

Download:  com.android.vending-new.apk

To install, download the file from above, tap on it and click “Install.”

no work with mine….ill have to wait

  • http://profiles.google.com/majorcovert Dane Carpenter

Awesome I can use multiple market accounts. I just wish I could hide apps that I will never download again that I’ve purchased. I don’t exactly want to use apps from my G1 days now with a more powerful phone.

doesnt install on liberty v.08 droidx

  • Ryan L Thornton

Works great on Droid 3, the only thing it breaks is when  you hit the search button and then choose market.  I never used that search anyways.

If anyone has a Google+ invite my email address is ryan.l.thornton@gmail.com.  Thanks!

Weird, i downloaded from here but it looks a bit different. First off i dont have movies obviously because im not in North America right now. Second the tabs look different as I have an entirely different categories page standalone. Thirdly, my main opening page is Apps not “market”.

  • Travis

Does this apk that i’m downloading work on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1? Thanks

How to update apps? DROIDX doesnt seem to do it with new market app!

    • Jonathonflores6958

My Apps are updating just fine. DX on .595.

  • Trooper

Too bad it does not work.  Installed it last night, but I am unable to update any of my apps.  I have two options, Open and Uninstall. :

    • Nex

I updated 2 of mine a little while ago, worked fine.

    • Anonymous

      Having the same problem….

    • Pete

Same problem. Only two options. Nex hw u do it?

      • Nex

Didn’t do anything special, it said i had updates available before i installed new market. After i installed , I just went to my apps and updates were available.  Running Stock thunderbolt, not sure if that matters.

    • Ace87

If you want to update and keep the new market you can always install through the market website. Otherwise it looks like you have to go back to the old market for the time being.

    • Alex Lock

i though it was just me lol

  • Fg2srt4

Yes @MuddyB00ts:disqus TeamAndIrc does have a workaround, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGEKL2YVDXU&feature=youtu.be…excited for them to release it…

    • Nex

  • tiptoptommy

  • Brendan

    How do I uninstall it?

    • http://profiles.google.com/chasehammer Chase Johnson

go to Manage Apps then click on Market, should be able to Remove Updates. Havent tryed it yet but thats how it works for most System apps.

  • Maiello1989

i dont know why but i have such problems downloading stuff to my droid i always get failed or something like that am i doing something wrong ???

  • http://twitter.com/mad3963 Mark Day

If I’m running a CM7 theme and install this, then re-apply the theme, will it it theme the new Market or does would the theme need to be updated for the new Market? Also, I’m running CM7 nightlies, would installing the latest nightly overwrite the new Market app each time, requiring me to re-install it?

  • Alex Lock

am i the only one that is only showing 2 installed apps??
i already tried uninstalling the updates and getting the apk again and nothing

  • Brendan

How do I update my apps? When I go to my apps it only shows 3…

  • Kierra

this does the one thing i hate about the Apple App Store, when you scroll through a list, and select something not toward the top and then go back to the list, you are put back to the top of the list and have to scroll you way back to where you where.   I HATE THAT FEATURE ON MY IPOD AND HATE IT ON HERE NOW :-(

  • Danmil05

downloaded and its good but the comments section is all mixed up. Does anyone know how to view the comment section by newest first?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=776200600 Jim Stricker

Anyone else not able to install this?  I’m running RubiX Focused 2.0 on my DroidX and my Android Version reads as 2.2.1.  When I download and install, at the end of the installation process, it tells me “Application not installed”.

  • Guttatae22

Loving it on my HTC thunderbolt I like the fact that I can rent movies again since the blockbuster app is garbage lol…but its faster smoother and looks better in my opinion thanks to Droidlife my thunderbolt doesn’t seem so bad afterall

  • Anonymous

I hate it – how can I go back to the old one?

  • Xgrinder911

Now if only they’ll update the browser ill be set:D

  • Jak_341

Am I the only one who doesn’t like it?

  • travis tuggle

you rock kellex Droid Life FTW.  Now if i could only get a Google+ invite

    • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

I can be nice just this once tho email

  • RW-1

    I like so far!

Integration of books is terrific, better than going tou to the website from GBooks app.

Being blocky allows more apps to be displayed on the OG anyway, tablet users should chime in here, i suspect that they get resized blocks scaled appropriately.

    • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

it was kind of bugging out on my xoom….and it didnt run all that well had to uninstall…this was def made for the phone not the tablet…the top of market would double and make it blurry too.

  • RW-1

Everyone remember to go to settiongs and UNCHECK the option to receive internet based ads …

Sometimes in the heat of a new install, we all might forget the little things :)

I like this, but isn’t it interesting that Google moves to a WM7 look ?

I must voice my love for your kind-heartedness giving support to those people who should have assistance with the matter. Your very own commitment to getting the solution all over became definitely invaluable and have in most cases made women just like me to realize their goals. The useful suggestions entails a great deal to me and still more to my colleagues. Thanks a lot; from each one of us.

Thank you so much Kellex!!!!! This seems like it has a windows 7 vibe to it, idk maybe it’s just me. I do like it a lot better. This makes everything more detailed and not so boring scrolling through looking for new apps to mess with, and with all the new rating system it is better than ever.

I would have thought originally that it would have self installed. I had just got a good deal on a brand new Incredible that had the old market on it, and when I opened the market for acouple minutes the new style with the rotunda of apps at the top with green bg loaded up. Maybe since this is a larger update for the market it has to be manually updated? Anybody care to comment?

  • http://www.facebook.com/nathanielnewmanmusic Nathaniel Newman

I wish I could block the things I don’t use like Books and Movies from showing. Just takes up space IMHO. It’s faster though.

Force closes every time i try to download..

  • Skskksiwkwk

was i suppose to install this on my transformer¿  it looks wierd.  how can i get honeycomb market back¿

    • Aaronmrozek

You should still have both markets. Look in your app list. You can get rid of it in, setting >applications>all> market> unistall updates. It did the same to mine

  • Peter Lambardi

I go on break at work and check droid-life.com. it says New android Market coming soon. a leaked version will probably be released first. 2 hours later when i got home from work i checked droid-life.com again and the leaked version was released. the people from xda and droid-life should get jobs with Google and Verizon. they can obviously release the updates alot faster and prove it with every update for every android phone.

  • ChucDz3

Gotta thank DL for always bringing us the newest and most informative android news. Did anyone else notice that they got rid of the manual update? +1 for that (I’m going to update regardless let me update it with the rest of the apps)

Got it to work on Liberty GB v0.9.  Used titanium backup pro to uninstall market (after I backed it up) then rebooted then installed the apk.  Works fine now.

    • Tiptoptommy75

Did that and it keeps fc when i try to install or uninstall

    Maybe once Google finally clears things over with the record labels, they can start selling music thru the Market. {{-_-}}

    • Anonymous

That’ll never happen, the record labels are run by a bunch of asshats.

    Kellex + Droid-Life + Android + Google = Unbeatable

When Google brings changes, they don’t play around.  Love the new Market update

Working just fine on my Xperia Play, 2.3.2.

  • http://twitter.com/victorstuber Victor Stuber

For some reason with the new market I’m getting app descriptions in spanish

No Bueno on my Droid X running Apex 2.0  RC2. Downloaded and  tried to install but it keeps saying   APPLICATION NOT INSTALLED

  • Anonymous

Looks amazing on my xoom! As well as my og Droid on the CM7 nightlies #127. They need to keep up this new ui overhaul this and Google+ are appealing to the eye something vanillia android lacks and is probably why carriers as well as manufactures want something they consider more user friendly like blur, touchwiz, sense and so on to be included in the phones.

    • RW-1

+1 …  Running ok so far on my OG with latest CM Nightly as well.

    • Anonymous

You’re running CM7 yet you don’t like vanilla android?  Unless you’re running a theme CM is basically vanilla android.  I happen to think gingerbread looks great.

  • Anonymous

this looks very nice and fits the G+ look…i can see the hand prints of the ex-apple and palm guys they hired…everything is so much more streamlined and cool

  • TheAndroid1

When I look at the market, my first thought probably shouldn’t be Windows Phone 7.
