Toshiba Thrive 16GB and 8GB Units Already Available at Newegg?

As far as we knew, you were only able to pre-order the Toshiba Thrive from retailers, but somehow Newegg managed to get a few and put them up for sale early. They currently have the 16GB model available for $479 and the 8GB model available for $429 – as far as I can tell, they will actually let you purchase both and have them within a couple of days thanks to free shipping.

Anyone interested?

This is very nice tablet by Toshiba. It has many good features. It has 5MP camera which gives better clarity of video. It has android OS. Which is faster. It has 10.1 inch screen so you can watch video or movies on big screen.

I kind of wanted this tablet, but after seeing how thick it is I think I’ll have to pass. Really hoping something slim like the 10.1, but with FULL USB support comes out this fall/winter.

Their price point is a little off for this tablet…I bought the Asus Transformer last week from newegg for $399 for the 16GB

Feeling okay, Kellex? This is twice in the last couple weeks that you’ve posted about the Toshiba Thrive!

I am definitely interested. This is one that, if I were going to get a tablet, I would get. It may be a little bulky for some people but it seems to have everything going for it otherwise. REALLY surprised it hasn’t gotten more attention here. Are the expectations that Toshiba would not make a good tablet or not be good with Android updates or something? Anything that anybody knows would be helpful, because this is something that I would actually like to get.

Also, word on the internets is that certain Best Buy stores have been selling this to people in-store since last Saturday and letting them walk out with it.
