DROID3 Gets a 360 View on Verizon’s Website

We’re still waiting on Verizon to officially announce the DROID3 by Motorola even though we’ve given you two pretty good indications that the phone will be released July 7 via direct fill and in stores on the 14.  The official word on it will likely come Tuesday (July 5) though, and will more than likely include a link to the 360 degree view of the phone that we’ve grabbed for you in a series of pics throughout this post.

You can see the official pic for the phone here, but if you want additional angles  that include the volume rocker, HDMI slot, keyboard, camera, etc. you’ll have to hit up the gallery after the break.

And I must say, that this phone is lookin’ sharper and sharper by the day.

Cheers Mr. 0mie!

does anyone else notice the inconsistency in the side view photos??? The two side photos both have something sticking out of the back of the screen but in slightley different spots… bad photoshopping? Id’ be tempted to call the bull stuff card on these photos.

nope ill pass and see whats out when oct. roll around and my contract up.  why?  cuz it seems to me that the things that made android so anti icrap are slowly disappearing like stock and keyboard.  is it me or you cant get a high end android with all the specs and a keyboard in one place.
    1) out of hundreds of android phones on the market the only vanilla is Nexus 1,nexus s, xperia play(yes stock),g2x but no keyboard.  G1,og Droid and the G2 vanilla and keyboard but all old spec wise.  idk crazy how after these android out in the wild 7 run stock and 3 stock and keyboard its like all what a lot of us signed up for is becoming a thing of the past

IMO, If blur is so “laggy and slow” in the first place, while sense and stock are smooth, why even bother about dual cores? Dual cores are used for gaming and what else? My friends evo 4g RUNS FASTER THAN A DROID X(we compared them on the first day). 4g, on the other hand, will speed up a phone more than dual cores ever will.
Case and Point, WP7, iPhone 4, Meego,(single core smooth)

… f**k this is a nice alternative to the SII, maybe not better, but different > well done moto (and now: bootloader, updates …)

    • Stephen D

Yes it is. I love the design. I just wish it was LTE.

  • http://twitter.com/Pollita_Droid Erica M.

Droid 3 already.. I see they fixed the back to make it one piece, well done. Looks good, I hate that bottom lip though in the front how its a different color, they should’ve kept it black but its a nice looking phone. And about time they added a 5th row for numbers. I wont be trading in my Thunderbolt for it but its defiantly nice.

I am just tried of Moto thinking that we’re stupid, “Oh look Moto gave the D3 Hdmi, a 4inch screen, and You Guessed Right Front Facing Camera” WOW  OOOOHHH, I realy want that Droid. Moto Pleaaassseee

C’mon, let’s stop drinking the Kool Aid, “this is NOT the Droid We’re Looking For” Moto hasn’t delivered an suitable replacement for OG Droid, all i see is three failures with lack luster specs that the other OEM’s laugh at.

I feel sorry for the OG and the community that fell in love with the little guy that broke Android out like gangbusters. the OG deserves better, cutting edge specs that will make you buy the OG in a split second. Not this 4th place at best device that people will look to HTC,Samsung or LG for value. This D3 is like the rst of the failures after the OG, WEAK!!! A speed bump before the Bionic. Maybe they need to trade names depending on how the Bionic cmes out. Moto’s pissing me off!!!

Ok, I am thru venting, :P

Would you like some cheese with your whine?  The only thing this phone is lacking is 4G and possibly (not confirmed) 512 MB of ram.  Everything else is top of the line.  This phone is better than 99% of what’s out there. Other OEMs laugh?  No, I laugh at your comment what with those other OEM’s mediocre speced refreshes left and right.  There is only one phone that’s currently better and that is the Galaxy S II, which may I add, is not guaranteed to get LTE either.

      • Anonymous

You must’ve fell down and cracked that soft skull of yours, probably drunk
already for the 4th. 512mb ram pleaaasse.
I bet you said the same when the D2 came out!!! McClain your embarrassing
yourself. Sit down read, understand, and pop that Moto Tit out your mouth.
When Moto can come out with a device that has the same success as the OG you
let me know. Moto has nothing but failure from the other replacements like I
said. The D3 is NOT a flagship device but a third best device at that. You
must be from Wisconsin speaking of cheese. The only cheese is that D3 that’s
full of holes. If it has 1 gig of Ram then ok it’s talking maybe 3 or
possibly 2 depending on bloatware and locked bootloader. Still not worthy to
replace the OG. Schools in sucker, lets talk internals ;)

        • Anonymous

          What is this, I don’t even….

Take another look at the specs numbnuts, all carriers load bloatware on all android phones save the Nexus genius. Yeah that Thunderbolt is such a huge upgrade, or how about the Incredible 2 with it’s locked bootloader? Yeah that piss poor battery life and underpowered single core processor is really impressive. Yeah the Charge is so impressive, or the Revolution, or the Inspire, or the Infuse which is just a Galaxy S with Samsung’s new AMOLED and an upgraded radio. Yeah, so much better than the Droid 3′s OMAP4 dual core, FFC, five row qwerty, 16 GB internal memory, larger qHD screen and android 2.3. Those OEMs sure are laughing right?

  • Anonymous

Ah if only this was 4G  then we would be on to something. But alas its only 3g. I guess w will all still be waiting for the Bionic in all of its 4G glory…………. Ya know if they ever announce the F’N thing or price it or show us a official screen shot or maybe some solid specs but we cant do that it would be silly to build some solid excitement for your biggest phone of the year. Not that i’m bitter.

      I don’t think it’s getting a new eye… the DX2 didn’t get a new one either.

      • Bmwseth

It’s lazy how they gave the D2 a new eye over the OG, so it would seem fitting to give the D3 a new one over the D2…we can hope!

No LTE, deal breaker. And who cares if you don’t have it in your area yet? You will when it does arrive and then you will not have a LTE device and then you will be crying and calling verizon names and slapping your girl friends mom and then your girl friends moms dad will stab you. HaHa!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=716789798 Lonnie Kerchief

I have no problem buying this until I both have LTE coverage and a decent LTE+keyboard phone comes along. It’ll be that much more time I don’t have to spend on my DX2.

      • Anonymous

Unless you’re going full retail, 2 years is a long time to be stuck with a 3G device, BRO.

        • RW-1

          Really? Why?

If no one had 4G yet, then we would all be on 3G.

3G is not going to be any less capable then it has for the last few years just because 4G is now out, it’s not going to be quicker, but not slower either, those staying on it might notice it better due to users who departed it for 4G.

I have LTE and see all the issues with it, but the main reason I won’t be on it is that there is no device available that I’ll plunk down hard earned $$$ to replace my OG.

You sound like a child VZ sales rep.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=716789798 Lonnie Kerchief

3G will be performing BETTER as more LTE rolls out and less people are on that and instead on LTE. 3G at just “good” bandwidth is upwards of 800Kbps, which is more than adequate for even video streaming. I’m not sure what the huge fuss is over LTE being a must-have right now, other than bragging rights. Streaming video is the most intensive bandwidth usage I have, and 3G has me covered for that.

To all of you LTE early adopters, thanks for clearing up the 3G bandwidth for me!

        • Mangamaster99

i only had my OG for a year and i am able to get a upgrade (for a $20 upgrade fee) plus lte won’t be in my area for another year and by then i’ll probably be eligible for a another upgrade.

gee i must thank apple for the contract they made with verizon for the early upgrades cuz of the iphone. though not like i am going to get a iphone, anyhow. ive been wanting a upgrade like yesterday don’t get me wrong i like my OG but i wants a phone with a dual core processor and a 5 row keyboard for a while. its a real b*tch to type ip’s on a 4 row keyboard. plus the more i hear about this phone the more i love it.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=716789798 Lonnie Kerchief

If my contract was up I would buy this even without the LTE. It’s still going to be wicked fast. And if it came down to a dual-core phone vs. an LTE phone, I’d go with the dual-core option. Sure, network speeds might not be quite as fast, but everything else will be.

Lookin’ sharp…There’s still a good market out there for phones with a physical keyboard.  I think the little brother will do the OG Droid proud.

    • Immolate

I used to swear by the physical keyboard, but gave it up for the DX and I’ve been okay without it. Still, sometimes I miss it although I’m probably faster on Swype than I was with the OG keyboard. Swype has been problematic on my Tbolt so I switched over to FlexT9 which is pretty good.

    • Droid

I’m still a fan of the physical keyboard. There have been times when my screen would bug out (maybe from my sweaty palms) and force me to use the keyboard in order to type correctly. And I don’t really plan video games on my phone, but when I take a flight I use the keyboard to play my emulator games. So I’m having a hard time going without one. Is there a fix for this anyone?

I’m liking the looks but I still gotta check out the feel and performance… and the price ;)  I imagine since this is a “world phone” it will be a lot more expensive than my OG Droid 1 was.

    • Bob

No, it won’t.  It should be the same price, $199 with 3 year contract (possibly $149, but I doubt it)  The global capabilities will only charge you more if you use them for international roaming.  (which I pan on using highly!)

      • Anonymous

Should be $199 on 2-year contract.  If they go more than that without LTE, it’ll be device suicide.

        • )v(urphy

I’m still floored that the Droid Charge was subsidized at $300! I think that’s what led me to the T-Bolt instead. I had a chance to play with the Charge and man it was smooth. If only I had waited. :0(

      • http://www.facebook.com/xsylus Jonathan Morley

Yea, but I’m not planning to use this phone with Verizon.  I use my current Droid 1 with Cricket.  So it would likely cost me a lot to get a Droid 3 w/out a contract.
