My phone is rooted and the software I rooted it with deters the OTA updates. So if an OTA update is how they will remove it then hopefully mine will stay free forever

I have been having issue with my service in my area. So i stop being lazy and gave Verizon customer service a call and told them the problem I was having. The guy that answered my call did a few test nothing worked . Then he transferred me to another rep . THis was advance technical support they ran the very same test . Then transferred me again to another person all he did was open a ticket and said a engineer will come out by your home and test your service and that you will receive a call back within a week or 2. They finally called me back after 3 weeks I was actually thought they forgot about my ticket. No good news they told me my service area was fine . It happen to be a supervisor that called so i ask her if she could have a tech come to my house to test my signal strength .

It was about a mouth and half later that the tech showed up at my house. He then began the test came back very poor signal. Then i proceed to ask him. What can you guys do about my poor service he said we can give you extender for free thought that was great i was going to finally have service at my own house. Well about a week later the extender shows up on my door step . The very next billing cycle that goes though show a 200$$ charge on top of my normal bill. I called Verizon again and told them that the tech that was at my house said i would be receiving this service for free since my reception was so bad. Then i told them his name badge number. The dumb hoe said no SR we don’t ever give those out for free. I called channel 13 news kurt and he straighten it out i end up not having to pay anything to Verizon. And i canceled there service. BIg red is not the same anymore.

I know this has been stated before, but I feel as though it needs to be said yet again. Why should I have to PAY FOR SOMETHING I ALREADY PAY FOR?

Also, I do not have an internet connection at my house because the local companies want WAY TOO MUCH MONEY….damn bloodsuckers. If Verizon were to offer unlimited data INCLUDING mobile hotspot (not sure why I have to state that, but they are obviously trying to squeeze every freakin cent out of us as they can), then Verizon would take huge marketshares away from companies like Comcast and AT&T. Its a major duh!

Suggestion, call them back and tell them again, if they promised you something and then backtracked, ask for them to pull up the conversation, so even if they don’t honor it, say you were promised something and they may give it to you free, or at least take off 15% off your bill. I had a situation w/ an upgrade and did this and got 15% off of my bill for six months. Worth a try…

This was my train of thought as well. Especially now that the Droid3 is being held back until the day afterward, (please early release, please early release). I mean they are really pushing it out, five emails in one day about the same promotional deal…hmmm….
