Droid 2 Global is the shit man… so happy i bought this instead of the regular D2 … woo go me and my smart decisions! i don’t know why everyone is talking so much shit about the D2G. i mean yeah motorola is taking forever with the upgrade, but MAN this phone rocks,! and ive had a lot of phones.

Relax. It’s all a lie. The update is not out there. Don’t know why after all the glossy PDF’s produced by Verizon, but when I try to update my 2.2 D2G it says I’m up to date.

They are goings to have a GB update for D2 but they are going to be handing out the update for D2G first

I’m overseas at the moment (Germany) and will be there for the next few months. Plus, I’m using a 3rd party SIM card since Verizon gave me an unlock code for the D2G. Is there any way I’ll be able to get this update before I get back to the states? It currently says “no update necessary at this time” when I try to force update.

It’s newer by a month or two, but the only advantage it has over the D2 that I can think of is that it’s a world phone. As has been stated before, there is a dearth of development for the D2G, which has been a major deterrent for me to upgrade to it. At the end of the day, I wish Motorola hadn’t ever released the D2, much less the R2D2 version. It would have been much easier to just have one model of Droid 2.

im right with you man….I have a D2 myself and I cannot believe its going to be one of the last Motorola phones that gets it….I have a good feeling that we will end up getting the update in the next week or 2….DX got it last week-ish and now the D2G….Im pretty sure we will be next, and trust me I dont like rooting my phone either because I get to worried about the warranty issue lol but hang in there dude ill be there right with ya….and nice name btw haha CHEERS

I cant freaking believe this. since day one with my D2 Ive been waiting for gingerbread…… And im stuck with Froyo?! i dont like rooting because verizon always screws me over so im stuck with this molten stale redhead stepchild of an OS! GOD KILL ME… sorry im spazzing out over a phone Dx
