Geeez…to bring this convo back around to the original topic instead of the usual “my mobile device’s d**k is bigger than your mobile device’s” tangent you peeps love so much I’d like to comment on the actual Gingerbreak App this 5-sentence article is about.

The app has been running now for the last hour with no changes or reboot yet. Anyone else have this issue with an out-of-the-box DX2? Any harm in killing it and trying again? I’m reluctant to interrupt the precious while it’s hard at work but I actually need to use the darn thing!

ok..so i downloaded the stock GB a couple days ago…loving it…but my question is, does g-break root when you already have g-bread installed…i’d like to install the root version of this file, but i tried running g-break today and it just said “rooting” and never finished…did a battery pull and no harm was done…but now i’m not sure….anyone have g-bread and then go to the rooted file?

How is it useless when you can get rid of all the bloat Verizon stuck on it. You can still use SetCPU and set up some decent profiles to give you way better battery life. So what if you can’t overclock it. The CPU screams just as it is.

I did the same thing with my X2. After getting rid of all those apps that had a V in front of them, my phone runs much better, and faster.

I rooted my X2 with GingerBreak last weekend. Easy and smooth. Rooted flawlessly. Best thing I ever did. The phone once rooted and cleaned up runs much better.

Perhaps not, but making an inflammatory statement like “most of us don’t enjoy being verizon/moto’s bitch”, while offering nothing but “additood” when pressed to back that up is definitely troll-ish.

Me? I bought the phone on launch day for $99 (I used a $50 loyalty discount on the $149 launch-day price). It does what I want of it, and I am more than satisfied. I knew that the bootloader was locked on day one, but for some curious reason I don’t feel ripped off, and I am nobody’s “bitch” just because it is not a factor to me.

Perhaps there is an unbiased survey somewhere where people express opinions as to whether a locked bootloader is significant, but it won’t be here, where people who care about such things are to be found.

For some of us it is a holy crusade. I would submit that for “most of us” it’s just a phone – and that’s only an opinion.

One more thing; if you don’t like it, just take it back to the store and stop fussing. Ain’t Capitalism wonderful?

I picked up the X2 the day it dropped here in Denver. I used GingerBreak to root it within an hour of walking out of the store. It works for now. This is the sickest phone ever. I have tried to get a screen shot with Drocap2 of my Quadrant Standard score of 2572, but it does not work.
