Download: Xperia Arc Launcher for All Devices

If you were up late with us on the west coast last night, then you might have seen our tweets about the Xperia Arc launcher that showed up over at XDA.  A better-than-average launcher that allows for some nice customization in the dock (including folders), some sort settings in a transparent drawer, and a really cool preview page of all of your screens’ widgets combined.

Should work on almost all devices including the DROID franchise (pics taken from my DROID X).  And yep, works on all non-rooted devices as well.

Download:  Arc_Launcher.apk

Cheers Nathan!

If someone implemented scrollable docks on this, I’d be all over it. Also, what are those two widgets right above the dock (the power control widget and the widget that I have no idea what it is)?

  • Faker

I’d love it if just one of these apps let you use extra wide icons in the dock. I want three across the bottom, taking up the entire width.

  • Gestur

I know that ports of apps, and entire firmwares, from other phones get posted all the time, but this must be a legal gray area? It’s an app that SE has developed for one of its devices, so it shouldn’t be free for anyone to use?

  • Tonee187

I downloaded it and I try to install it and a htmi reader comes out what do I do next?

  • AWOL

What is the power control widget there? And the highlighted circle with the bar and dots inside it?

“and a really cool preview page of all of your screens’ widgets combined.” For some reason I can’t find out how to do that…. Any help is appreciated. Thx

Pinch in (multitouch) to preview, pinch out to return…

Thank you. I don’t know why when I tried it previously it didn’t work for me.

    is kellex running a stock x? O_O

    • digsoreos

I think the purpose was to show that this launcher can run on non-rooted devices.

Launcherpro plus widgets spoiled me. Can’t live without them on my homescreens now haha

The wireless and bluetooth widgets can be made with extended widgets in the market

  • ShannonT

Anyone else getting stuck in the overview screen? Also, no landscape mode? At least, not for me (rotating OR with keyboard open). Otherwise seems to run nice and fast. OG Droid, rooted 2.2.1, 1.2GHz.

this DEFINITELY does not look good if you have your LCD Density changed

I’ll just wait for LauncherPro to incorporate these features.

Also, Kellex, how did you get your DX to display 1% battery increments? I thought all Motorola’s went by 10%.

    • http://www.facebook.com/5.second.minute Kit Tihonovich

Circle Battery Widget, was the name.
      I think?
I have it installed…but am currently pooping and away from Droidie.

      • http://twitter.com/summerson Cameron Summerson

It’s not the widget that I’m asking about. Normally, all Motorola phones display the battery in 10% increments. In the SS above, the DX used is showing 63%, which indicates that there is a way to force 1% increment notifications.

        • Jaytrain391

it is the widget that does it. i thinks its the only way to get 1% increments on motorola phones

          • http://twitter.com/summerson Cameron Summerson

I’ve been using that widget for quite a while, but I’ve never seen that option.

          • DroidzFX

it was added in a recent update

You games folder is missing PewPew (from Jean Francois, not the malware). Super addictive.

      • AC

        thanks!

    is the link broken?

  • Marcaureli

Link goes to a text file

    • shr1k3r

just use astro and rename it to .apk and it should work

      • SsnimmaX

wants to open it still as a readme file… even after saving it as .apk instead of .txt ??

        • shr1k3r

did you delete the “.txt” part before adding the “.apk” at the end?

          • Mike

I’ve been trying to get this to work for about 2 hours, checked 5-6 websites and followed the directions, nothing. After reading your comment, i changed the file to .apk and it worked. Thank you so much!!

          • Anonymous

            Thanks that worked for me.

  • Miked

What battery widget is that kellex?

Nice, but we haven’t seen another launcher really rival LP or ADW, I for one would like to see more competition in this arena.

It’s always good to keep the devs on thier toes lol, And, a great product for us consumers :)
