Crazy – my incredible got Froyo last summer and I am anxiously awaiting gingerbread, which my husband’s Moto X got almost a month ago. There is definitely something wrong here and maybe it is with your phone. I would follow @CheeseLover’s advice, but certainly investigate further. I think at this point, rooting your phone might cause you more trouble and Verizon might use just the fact that you rooted, as an excuse for your trouble – even if the trouble started first.

I think i’ve seen that douche bag with the dumbass comments with a couple of different names. Well i guess all we can do is keep the fire burnin! Anyway, i’ve had my OG droid for a year now, and i loved it. But i feel it’s time for me to move on, i like the bionic but the t-bolt looks good too, guess my ? is should i wait for the bionic(tired of waiting)? or strike the iron while it’s hot?

verizon does have good service and I love my X…but it had all the hype that thunderbolt is getting and will die off just as fast….new phones are only new for a few weeks so lets get GINGERBREAD out here for all the peeps who bought x’s.droid2,pro,evo,dinc’sand other smartphones to get upgraded before they sell us another round of bigger and better dream phone’s ,kinda level out the playing field…lol U >)));>2

you can do this yourself and not be rooted. If you are interested, the info is on this site. I can help if you would like. It is a matter of using the official OTA update.zip on your SD card.

I think it has to do with the Droid name. Droid is supposed to be premium so I think the companies (vzw most likely pushes this) to have the “droid” level phones get updates faster then the other devices.

While at first glance it might appear that HTC is the way to go, things change a lot when you take into consideration the fact that HTC is far inferior when it comes to hardware. I’ll gladly wait a couple more weeks for an update if it means I won’t have to carry around a plastic piece of crap.

I guess this means that Samsung, Dell, and Sony should be branded DO NOT BUY!

Motorola’s saving grace is that they do fast updates, like HTC, but lose major points for the locked bootloader. We’ll see if the Bionic has that as well. For now, they are rated MAYBE BUY

HTC on Verizon seems to be rated BUY BUY BUY

Not fast enough! Devs here and in the android community make updates about twice a month on average with the latest android version! Kudos to them, unsung heros!
