make sure its called update and the file type is a zip. Sometimes people get confused and make it update.zip.zip

Get Root Explorer from the Market. open and go to your build.prop file located at /system folder. Press and hold the build.prop until menu with “Open in Text Editor”; edit the line that reads “ro.build.fingerprint=verizon_wwe/inc/inc/inc:2.2/FRF91/XXXXX:user/release-keys. The X's represent the numbers that are currently on your phone. Change the number (X's) to 264707. Save, exit and reboot. You will still get the notice on reboot, open it (do not install update) and then back out. It will no longer show up.

I am a rooted DI user. I do not want to perform the OTA update so how do I get rid of the annoying pop up to install the update?

I know its about money- most things are. But my point is it is definately unethical and questionably illegal. We purchase hardware and software with these phones that we can use or not use/delete at our discretion

Thank god…my has been nagging me about the nag screen her phone has been giving her since the update came out. Of course, the next current problem is trying to figure out why I can't access her phones internal & SD card storage on ANY computer…but I can read the card in Astro & when I pull the card out to use an adapter >_<

This is all about money. Application dev like “City ID” pay big bucks to get forced on our desktops. Verizon is protecting that value stream by locking the phone so you can't remove them.
