Do the people that have Swype on their DROIDX ever get an update? I mean if we have it why shouldn't we get updates for it? Or since we have it already can we download the update from the website? I'm confused?

I finally got around to installing this today, but Swype force closes immediately after installation, and if I choose it as the input method, it force closes right away. Any ideas?

Preciate it worked immediately… followed the steps to the t except I rebooted my phone after the uninstall then force stopped every widget and non essential service/app…

This method worked in the older version but not this one… What I did after step 5 was reboot and then did step 6 and also killed all unnecessary running services as well. Then proceeded with the install by first going to the link for the Swype Installer which did the start download and then the install which completed except instead of getting the activate swype screen, I get the Download package failed, swype is already installed. Uninstall and reinstall and I repeated the same process with no luck.

make sure after the install is done and you click the done button, that you wait for the activate swype screen to come up. Do not click away from the “start download” screen that you may be seeing after the install is over. The install actually isn’t quite done, not until you see the activate swype screen.

anyone else keep getting a force close? after it finishes the install i click done then it give me a force close everytime..

I had trouble the first time..then went to mng apps..swype..clear data..then uninstalled it… I re downloaded the installer again and ran it again went to settings… keyboard enabled swype again and it works great now…the accuracy seems to be better…the voice to text works good…nice update guys….

tried that, don't go back to the start download screen, got an error message from the installer saying swype was already installed
