The DL Q&A Sessions are your chance to ask us anything that might be on your mind, whether it’s Android related, or anything else entirely.
For those contemplating a Galaxy S7 purchase, you can ask us anything about that device, or maybe you want to look ahead at what to expect from HTC and LG. We still have a bit before G5 pre-orders go up, but we have handled the device and can tell you a few things if you want to know. We could even talk Google I/O. Registration is right around the corner, after all.

Kellen, can you do a video of how you have AC Display set up and working on your S7?
Is there a way to get “OK Google” detection when the screen is off on the S7 without rooting? I’m coming to the S7 from the Droid Turbo, and really miss being able to speak commands to my phone when it’s just out of reach or in my pocket.
I’m still using my Nexus 7 (2013) as my tablet, somewhat pointless having Shamu as my phone. If you were to buy a new Android tablet right now, what would you buy or would you wait? Pixel C? Nexus 9?

Can anyone help me with Google photos. Here’s my current situation. I made the switch from iOS to android. All of my photos are on iCloud photos and on my MacBook. I recently downloaded the Google photos Mac app and uploaded my entire library iCloud Photo Library to Google photos. The size of photo library is 67.5GB. I’m using a Moto x pure 64gb plus I added a 128gb sdcard and I have 165gb of storage to use. I downloaded the Google photos app to my Moto x. I signed in and immediately saw my iCloud Photo Library is there. Which is great! Here’s where I need help. I want my entire New Google photo library to be directly downloaded to my Moto x pure. As of right now. If I go back 6 months in Google photos to browse photos, I get the loading circle when I click on specific photos. It’s takes about 4-6 seconds for photo to load with the proper resolution. I don’t want that. I want it to be immediate. That’s the way my old iPhone 6. On my old iOS phone I choose to download original photos to device. How can I do that on my Moto X pure using the Google photos app?
Also if I choose to download a video from the Google photos app, it will download then I tap to open and get an error message. “Can not play file” which was video recorded on an iOS device. How can I fix this?
One more thing. Is it possible to transfer my iCloud photos albums I created in the past. Transfer those albums to Google photos. I have albums like “Vegas trip 2010” “New years 2014” and so fourth. I want those albums trasfered to Google photos. Is that even possible. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Does installing a different launcher on the S7 Edge disable the edge functionality?
No as it doesn’t disable TouchWiz. I’m using the Google Now Launcher and still have Edge functionality. I think I might go back to Touchwiz though. Haven’t played with it enough on Marshmallow yet.

A video was released today talking about how the iPhone 6S+ kills the S7 in “real world speed test”. He talks about how either the 820 is over-heating and therefore it’s throttling, or otherwise doesn’t know why it’s behaving the way it is. Maybe they’re just having memory management issues again. Any micro lags or force closes? I’m now on the fence because I already have a iPhone 6S and Nexus 6. The 6S kills my Nexus 6 in performance but how does it match the S7? I love the design and features of the S7 but I’ve never had any complaints about speed or updates on my 6S.
Saw this video over the weekend and hoped it was just an isolated incident dealing with one users defective device but I’ve not seen anyone attempt a similar test to prove otherwise.
Does the S7 activate the carrier tethering check or is it like the Z5 where there is no tethering check?

Curious about this as well. I had at least two of my regular podcasts talk about buying the Samsung gear 360 or something similar to give listeners the chance to experience being in studio with them. I tried the demo gear VR at a Best buy but it didn’t really interest me until they mentioned it on these shows.

considering it’s useless now – a gimmick. But if you want a camera grip you get one!
Next big thing for sure for one reason only, it’ll save money. Imaging only having to pay $50-100 a year to replace your Processor and or camera lens, to keep up with the jones’ instead of replacing an entire phone, not to mention the waste of an entire phone to upgrade it’ll be a lot more greener the 10-20 million whole devices every year.

2) I think where the difference is, folks are looking for that 1 witty punchline or catchy phrase in a song with a trap beat. That ain’t him. Hip hop USED TO BE about a story, used to have substance, used to make you think more about what was talked about as opposed to what was said. I think Kendrick brings that. Anyone can come up with metaphors, but to write full hip-hop songs that rhyme, with metaphors, and have substance is something that hasn’t been mainstream for quite sometime now. I think that’s why ppl like him. He tells his stories, the stories of others, and speaks on things other than indulging in money-cars-clothes-hoes-drugs.
