That’s not what I mean. I don’t want google to separate Nexus vs Non-Nexus. It’s all Android. Google needs to make sure the average consumer doesn’t forget that. Average folks STILL wouldn’t complain about updates because they wouldn’t know any better… But it’s not about that either. It’s about Google staking claim to Android – Galaxy – HTC Android Device or any other off brand… They neeed people to understand that ALL of it is android… And that something like “Galaxy” isn’t different from a VZW “Droid”

Just playing devil advocate but isn’t this what a lot of android fanboys make fun of Apple for? Apple being the “mall brand”? It just seems a little contradictory that Google opening a store is considered the greatest thing ever (even though I’m very excited about it).

I don’t think this will be a real retail store. It will probably be like the Microsoft pop up store that was in Time Sq this holiday season or the Samsung pop up store that was in Columbus Circle last holiday season. In the Samsung store they didn’t even have a register. It was just a museum of Samsung products.
