It’s a pity it’s not reliable though – my second one is going back tomorrow for a refund – both have had screen failures

I guess you get what you pay for, and abysmal service/support from Google Play is part of the reason I’ll be buying a different brand now.

Id’ been pondering buying a Galaxy Tab for some time. I read dozens of reviews and this one was helpful http://search4reviews.net/ , I got my package last week and am very happy. I Would highly recommend to anyone still unsure:

I’m going to have to say the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is up there with the Nexus 7. It might not be as powerful but it makes up for it in storage capacity.

Could always sell them on Swappa, eBay, or Craigslist. I barely keep a device for more than a few months. I wait till the next big thing drops in price, sell my old phone and grab one used.

I agree. Normal consumers will be all over this the same way they were with the original Fire. Most of us here aren’t your average consumers. We care about specs, and running the latest version of Android. That’s the beauty of a Nexus.

No sd card = Fail to me, I like the extras on a tablet, so I don’t think low price gets me what I want in a tablet.

But people with kids are going to love this deal, even schools are starting to integrate tablets to education in class rooms. Having a $150 tablet in substitute for 5-10 year old school books will revolutionize the education system, especially when brand new books cost average $80 per text.

I would buy if it had decent specs for $150, otherwise if they are gonna skimp on the specs, than I’ll just get a Nexus for 50 more

To be honest I would take a $150 good non-tegra dual core over a $199 Nexus Tegra Quad-core. I think that Asus + Tegra was just bad.

The Galaxy Tab 2 7″ was a POS. Too little internal storage, underpowered SoC, Touchwiz, weak battery, and generally little better than its predecessor device. And you could easily make the argument that the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1″ was a worse device than its predecessor (other than JB and the microSD slot).

I really hope Samsung ditches the proprietary connector for the 3rd gen and tries to compete in the magical $199-$299 7″-8″ tablet realm instead. I am still PO’d that we never got a wi-fi Tab 7.7 in the US…
