I haven’t used it myself yet since I shied away from the price tag (I probably won’t use it enough). However, I think it’s very logical and you have to get used to the “syntax” since that’s what it is. Yeah I’m not too worried about it, just hadn’t really had time to actually use the app and I was only minorly bugged by the UI previously. Was just worried that it would be a full new app that I’d also have to pay for.

Perfect. if you hardly use wifi/gps etc, then you can use tasker to make sure these are powered off automatically when your not using them, based on many things. time/location/app/ringing/gesture/light level/network connection + 100s more/ the list goes on, hell you can even combine and create your own triggers. make apps etc etc. the possabilities are endless, and at the price its at, its a steel, for simpletons who just want automated jobs done, to experts who want to run calculations and shell command even make apps.

I don’t think there’s any “old” version (unless you’re stuck on pre-ICS). Once the beta is over, I’m sure there’ll be an update for the existing app in the market.

your better putting a link to the beta on taskers official site, as the one you linked is outdated already. beta 5 up today and this is changing daily at the moment. Also its not free, the current full version is required to install the beta over.

I assume most people who use it aren’t going to bother with the beta and just wait until it hits the play store. So I would ask again if there’s a release article.

Not at all – Locale is simple, Tasker is more powerful and more advanced. I don’t think Tasker has any interest in those looking for simplicity, there are umpteen products out there for that – Locale being the best. Tasker goes after power users and it makes us very happy people!
