Samsung should invest more time and money on improving the batteries on their smartphones, instead of throwing more cores into their smartphones. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for more cores, but there’s no point in adding cores when the battery is going to drain within a few hours. Improve the battery technology, so that we can charge the phone in less than 20 minutes, instead of 2 hours.

As long as the price remains virtually the same and reliability/performance isn’t any worse… why NOT have 8 cores?! But I understand where he’s coming from. It’s like the 8 speed automatics. Sure it gets 3% better mileage than 7 speeds, but it’s mostly to one-up the competition because it sounds cooler.

Its not an A15, its not an A9. Its Qualcomm’s own design, its only similar to either b/c there are known standard mirco-architectural design concepts used to achieve high performance. Qualcomms design is based off the same architecture document as the A9, but that only specifics how the execution of instructions work. There are many different ways to achieve the same execution(result).
