A year from now, there will be a new Android version out, and the graphs will look the same –that is, a very small percentage will be running the new version, while a ton of phones will be finally running ICS.

Are there any stuck with it though? Most if not all of those have at least ICS now. There are people that just don’t upgrade.

IMO the 9% on Froyo is worse because it’s a fairly large percentage. 2.6% combined on < 2.1 is small enough to dismiss.

That’s good to hear. I was angrily swearing at the TV during the holidays every time I heard the Wal Mart commercial with “get a free Samsung Galaxy S2″ which means “weclome users to an old, outdated, horrible Android experience that should have been laid to rest years ago. Oh, and you’re stuck with it too.” Companies shouldn’t allowed to distribute Gingerbread anymore.

its going to be another year at least till gingerbread drops significantly. Not till those 2 year contracts are up and people start upgrading their phones to new contracts with discount from late 2011 and early 2012 devices that sold with gingerbread and weren’t going to be updated to 4.0

there is no way in hell that jb is in the double digits. htc and samsung are the biggest out there and barely 1% of their phones are running it.
