I use airplay mirroring constantly. We are more of an iOS household, and my primary display on my TV is a HTPC with XBMC (which can act as an airplay reciever). Anytime someone comes over and wants to show us a picture, BAM, up on the tv. When my wife and I are talking about the funny video someone at work linked us to, we show it on the TV. When I am researching how to unclog the Keurig, or watching a Starcraft replay, I am doing it on the TV, mirrored from my device.

This technology is amazing. I am really hoping the miracast catches on and is adopted by more devices/programs. It would be great to have an open alternative to airplay.

Hey man have you actually tested the actiontec with any of the micracast tablets or smartphones? I'm curious because I'm wondering how they got their firmware done so much sooner than anyone else. Any try the actiontec with a Galaxy S3?

How is the audio to video sync? Is it stable even in the beta? I can tell you that we've been using the old Netgear 2000 models with intel WiDi and it's been reliable. I suspect that once they get the Miracast firmware debugged on both sides that this will be a killer technology.

I think that the next issue will be is does the device have enough horsepower to push the data necessary to make it all work. As opposed to if the Miracast standard is capable of doing it.
