You could use the Bionic as a media player, since you probably won’t be doing that with a 8-16GB Nexus 4.

No.

Two reasons:

1) Google is a multi-national, multi*BILLION* dollar company. They do not get to use the “We’re new at this” excuse. We should be holding them to a little bit higher standards than a ma-n-pa store.

2) Go to http://www.google.com. Type something in the search box. Click the “shopping” link. Yeah.. Google does that. They have for quite a few years. They are not new to virtual store-fronts for physical goods.

Remember the original Nexus that they tried to sell online? How long ago was that? It’s an excuse, and in my opinion a pretty pathetic one…especially for a company born-and-bred on the internet.

Don’t get me wrong, still a big fan, but just because I am a fan doesn’t automatically mean they cannot royally f*ck up. They have the resources to get it right…or, failing that, they could hire an expert or two. Don’t know any?

They could always, ya know…Google it.

I just ordered mine, actually one for sister too at 7AM EST…It says it will ship in 4-5 weeks but at least I know it’s on its way…My husband had tried at around 3pm and later told me it was sold out already. I was getting so disappointed that I was going to have to wait again for it to become available until I found this mini article and read all the comments…I didn’t even need to do the “hold down enter key, or spacebar!”

Tried again around 7pm and was successful after failing in earlier attempts that lasted two whole hours of continuous difficulty at checkout. So for those who failed like in earlier attempts…probably give it another shot. Keep on pressing proceed even if u get the failed message.

Brutal. Estimated shipping for the 8gb is 7-8 weeks. The 16gb is 4-5 weeks.
