No need for a “common internet connection”
Yes, they will both need to be Wifi Direct capable devices.

Interesting. I’m definitely on WiFi as I was able to get YouTube to work. I found this article stating that GTV devices aren’t currently supported. http://bit.ly/OIz84e

I have a Revue, Xoom, and Nexus 7. Might be able to explain the Gnex disconnect if you are using LTE instead of being on the same network as your Revue

I have a Logitech Revue and both a Xoom and a Nexus 7. All three are tied to the same Netflix account and are on the same wireless network which I assume are both necessary for it to work right.

Login with your gmail account on the YouTube app on the x360, then in the x360 app there’s a spot to pair as a YouTube TV. Type the code on your android device, name the screen, and you’re done.

I hate my Google TV it sucks so bad..there’s zero communication between my phone and the box and its more of a pi ain than anything

Quality is decent but continuous buffering made it damn near useless.Netflix runs perfectly fine, but for whatever reason YouTube constantly buffers.
