i recently bought a Nexus 10 and the selling point for low internal storage was the access to cloud storage but I cant seem to access it here in Canada. Not impressed. If I cant access the added cloud storage why am I charged the same price?

I’ve owned the G-Nex. The radios are garbage, and so is the battery life. The screen scratches ridiculously easy. The first day I took it out the box, 5 minutes later: scratches. It’s a BETA device as far as i’m concerned. MOTO has superior build quality, along with superior radios. And now, even a superior battery. I’m not a developer, I don’t really care about ROM’ing anymore….

So basically what you’re doing is settling for a phone with a non removable battery, even though you prefer to have that option?
If you’re going to settle on a device, why not go Galaxy Nexus? Its way better than moto’s garbage.
Moto had one amazing device, the bone stock, completely unlockable original droid. Then they proceeded to literally insult us all with locked down crap featuring awful skins and sub par screens. If you’re okay with giving them your money, that’s your business, and I respect your opinion.

For what its worth, didn’t Google say they didn’t plan to change Motorola’s game plan much? You’re certainly right when you say they’re at the mercy of what carriers (Verizon) want. There was a post on here last week I believe that discussed its actually Verizon who likes the skins and asks manufacturers to make devices with them.
But if people would stop buying that crap, they wouldn’t think skins sell, now would they? This is why I will refuse to buy anything with a skin from here on out. I’ll stick with my gnex for another 5 months or so, and if Verizon doesn’t have a new nexus by then, I’m going to a carrier who does. I’m not going to support skins, because they ruin android, in my opinion. But to each their own.

Remember the razr HD was the last of a preexisting lineup already put into works before Google purchased Motorola. I would assume all phones by Moto from here on out will be similar to nexus devices in updates, I’d think it would be smart for fragmentation concerns and better for Moto. But they also have to do what carriers (vzw) wants to get the contracts to keep them in business.

I don’t really blame them for this move. Americans seem to be too caught up in looking “cool” with their designer iphones, and much less on functionality and specs. I know here in California it really sickens me by all of the iphones I see people using. Let’s get with the program folks!

The subject was that the new Nexus 4 does NOT have removeable battery. The main point is, that if an OEM persists to use a non-removable battery, then to at least put a large one into there. Personally I prefer access to my battery, and my SD. Where you got the impression that I prefer non-removable is beyond me….

When my battery runs out, I have three fully charged spares waiting to back me up (though i usually only carry 1 spare, except on Sundays when I’m at work streaming NFL red zone all day!). If I wanted to be a slave to a charger, I’d buy a phone with a non removable battery. You do realize batteries can’t be recharged an infinite number of times? They do eventually wear out. My OG droid battery did just that. My dad’s thunderbolt battery stopped holding a charge for long so he bought a new one. Not having access to the battery is unacceptable. But if you want to support crap like this, I respect your freedom to spend your hard earned dollar any way you want. And I truly hope you enjoy your device.
