I have the note 2 on Verizon and after I ordered the sim card required for it, i was able to get isis activated and a physcial isis card mailed out to me. You need to tell Verizon customer care you need a sim card with isis support or known as the sim card with NFC and you need to tell them that you need the sku # to have the word NFC in it. I talked to 3 stupid reps that knew nothing of what i was saying and nor didnt know what isis was and claimed that they dont offer it, thats what pisses me off when people work for companies that dont know thier own products, after 4 tries i got a tech geek on the phone that knew exactly what i needed. They shipped it and it works just great, i am afraid to root my phone because it says if you root device, then isis may not work.

Sim has a secure element (SE), no NFC chip. NFC chip in your phone. Some phones can have 2 SE’s, an embedded and another on the SIM.

That’s what I’m wondering about… isn’t the advantage of NFC that it’s a universal standard (like bluetooth)??? imagine if you needed a special SIM card every time y ou got a new Bluetooth device… Are we missing something? Kellex can you clarify?

I hear ya. I bought a S3 thinking I would be able to use it as my credit card (Wallet-NFC) only to find out the NFC is pretty much useless; unless you are sharing media with other S3′s. It seems like this NFC wallet thing is one big money grab by the carriers. Which also seems very illegal … but what do I know about corperation legality =/

So why is this so difficult for these telcos to implement. Google made Wallet available on pretty much every NFC enabled phone but with ISIS you need a new SIM card and it’s only supported on select devices. Why not the GNEX. It’s supposed to be a flag ship phone????
I think I’ll just stick with Google Wallet.

Yes, that has been confirmed. Verizon released a list of supported phones a few months ago. I know the Dinc 4G was on the list. No Nexus.
