Just received mine too, but my Scott Tolleson Mystery 1 has an ORANGE face not GREEN like yours. Are there 2 different S.T. Mystery 1′s? Anyone have any info.?

It is not at all uncommon for some of the legs on some of them to be slightly bent and not perfectly straight, just the way some are manufactured.

Mine are from Ebay and I looked real good at the 360 view on Dyzplastic.com. My legs are straight on 8 Ball where as his are kinda tilted in but otherwise, all is good. Phandroid has crooked legs and a lil messy on some areas. I am not sure how to tell if this is manufacturer defect or… what do you think I should do? I will take pics of it and go from there.

I don’t believe there are any fakes for Series 2 and 3 that I am currently aware of. It was largely just series 1 that was faked as well as the first Chinese New Year god one (the red one) Here is Andrew Bell’s post about spotting the fakes, basically he has made the designs and everything more complex so that they are not so easy to fake. dealextreme.com is one website I know of that carries the fake series 1.

If you buy any of the new ones, basically those are all real so you don’t have to worry. But you should stick to buying from Amazon/eBay or one of these official sites:

Wow, thanks Tyler for being very informational about these lil collectibles. I am glad you made me feel better knowing that the ones I want are “real” and not rip offs. I haven’t been following deeply as I would see an image of one and go “yeah, I want that…” just because. Phandroid and 8 Ball Hustler arrived wonderfully packed. Will be attempting to purchase Clear and both Cupcakes soon. I wonder how many more are coming out?? Thanks again!!
