Glad too see you found one that works well for you. I personally started with Plume shortly after it switched from Touitter, then jumped to Twidroyd, then to Seesmic, then to Tweetcaster and finally back to Plume. Those are the ones I used as my primary clients for any amount of time. I kept running into bugs, missing features, unresponsive developers, etc so I had to keep switching. Plume has really come a long way since I first used it: truly an impressive transformation.

The other ones like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Twitter, Ubersocial (previously Twidroyd), Tweetdark and Twicca never made it for very long on my phone even though I kept giving them chances when I would switch clients. They were just too far behind.

I’ve been using touitter/plume since the dawn of time and have tried most of these twitter clients and have yet to crossover to any of them.

Well if you were being sarcastic, it certainly didn’t read that way. In fact, it seemed like you were being a jerk and trying to invalidate my attempt to be helpful. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for some playful trolling as long as it’s made clear that’s all it is. Attaching trollface to your trolling goes a long way! lol

Clearly you’ve done your homework and read my many other posts and searched my username to see what type of posts I make on a variety of forums. You’ve no doubt concluded that your suspicion simply MUST be correct after your diligent searching. There’s literally no way that I’m just trying to be helpful and make sure Android folks benefit from my time intensive testing. Thanks for uncovering the truth for everyone! /s

If you haven’t tried Plume, I think you’re missing out. I recommend using their beta personally since it releases new features a bit before the market version and comes with all the features of the paid version at the price of a few small ads at the bottom of the app (they’re unobtrusive IMO).

The only one that could hold a candle to Plume was Tweetcaster, and that fell behind as the new releases became buggy, were infrequent and failed to add features that people needed. The others are subpar. I wish the developer of issimo was still working to release his app b/c that might actually claim king of the hill, but he seems to have ceased development for all intents and purposes.

Anyway, you can jump over, register for their “forum” ( http://levelupstudio.com/betatest/index.php?board=3.0 ) which is really just a place where they post their free beta. It is updated relatively frequently, but the new versions are downloaded in-app (upon your approval). It basically asks if you want to see the new beta, brings you to the change log (in app) and if you want it, you click “download” and if not, you click “cancel”. If you download it, it does it very quickly and then immediately brings you to the install screen where it installs over the previous version. If you’re paranoid, it has a ‘backup data’ feature and ‘import data’ feature, but you shouldn’t have to use it as it keeps your data and setup with each new version.

Tweet lanes is my go-to phone client, just wish it was compatible with my Transformer Prime. 99% of my time on Twitter is just reading, not really active otherwise so the lack of push notifications and other features aren’t a big deal to me. Awesome dev though and I think it has real potential as he adds more features.
