Yep — I haven’t rooted my Xoom… I always root my phones but for some reason I have been resistant to doing it on my tablet… oh well, Soon™.

I’m running ICS. The Xoom only has read unless you get an app to remount it at read/write. Either way you cant do apps to SD.

Sorry to hear that… I grabbed my wifi Xoom on launch (3/27/2011) — it’s a daily driver for me and on ICS, this thing is a beast. Admittedly, it was a bit lackluster at launch but now — order of magnitude difference in performance. Really looking forward to ‘Project Butter’ in the next couple of weeks.

The only thing the Xoom infringes on is my wallet and my sanity. It’s a bleak reminder of why NOT to jump on the next new device before it spends some time in the wild. A classic failure to my needs from purchase to giveaway. Yes, giveaway, as in get it out of here for free or I will throw it out a window. Meh.
