Have had two HTC phones, Incredible and Incredible 2. Love HTC Sense and like the phones a lot. However, until HTC improves their phone radios I will be looking at a Motorola as my next smartphone.

Motorola wont release a phone that out preforms the RAZR for a year, the RAZR Maxx is still motorola’s flagship, and it’s nearly a year old!

I’m getting the motorola for a more stock android feel and a build quality and battery life which have no equal. Except in the RAZR MAXX, which lacks an HD screen and has an inferior chipset.

I hear ya. and respect that for sure. I’m just one of those guys that wants the new thing when it’s new. And an S4 processor with 1 gig of ram combined with a 720p HD display isn’t a new combination. It’s just my pickyness I suppose.

I agree. I can’t believe other phone manufacturers haven’t caught on yet. They think the MAXX is selling because it’s a Razr. So clueless.

No disrespect, but your math is not right. Regardless of what it cost me, I sold 16GB for $650 and then took the $650 and bought the 32GB version for $560 which put $90 in my pocket. The 32GB version is $50 more on contract so if that is added to the $90, I received and effective discount of $140 from my purchase price. Looking at it in reverse, the 16GB version was $280 out pocket ($199+taxes+fees) and I ended up with a 32GB version for a total out of pocket of $190 ($280-$90).

So, you purchase a SG3 for $199 on contract from a provider, then you sell it for $650.00. That nets you $451.00 in profit (not counting any selling fees). Then you turn around and purchase another SG3 for $560.00; thus there is no profit; there is a loss of $109.00.
So, can you explain why this is a good deal?

i would take this over the pastastic s3 any day. Cheap south korean crap vs ultra high quality, best radio-toting, super-reliable american engineering from one of the oldest communications companies in the world? I’ll take the moto any day. Hell I would take the bionic over a samsung of any form. When I think sammy, I think Kia. When I think motorola, I think toyota/lexus. No matter how high the specs, no matter how large the screen, and no matter how many cores they jam into their phones this one fact has always been true of samsung: they will bait and switch the masses with junk plastastic phones than can barely withstand a 2 foot drop, much less two years of heavy use.
