Built and Manufactured in the USA. 100 percent. Parts that go into that don’t matter. Everything could be from China. As long as it was made in the States, then they can say manufactured in USA.

I ran an early ICS rom on that phone and it did make the phone awesome except data was broken but thats fixed with leaks I believe! I now have a razr.

Actually, cheap overseas labor has even more to do with it than union labor; union labor isn’t as plentiful as some people seem to believe it is/was. When you can pay some foreign worker a few dollars for a day’s work, it’s hard to even compete with minimum wage salaries. The difference in monetary value is what makes it cheaper using overseas labor, not the absence of labor unions.

Maybe they should put a label on the Nexus Q that is similar to a bag of mixed nuts: Every part has its origin stated… No seriously, does it really matter? Most high-quality electronics are made in Japan. If Google decided to have most components Made in USA and and assemble it here then KUDOS! It’s not like it reads “Designed in California, assembled in China”. Apple probably already TM’ed this anyway.

Google needs that shot in their search engine icon for a day, kudos for that. And when you click on it it should give you a taste of what the device can do for you and sample its features for people who don’t know what it can do.
Also somewhere a star wars nerd is turning that into a thermonuclear detonator device from star wars, may the force be with us.
