That’s a restaurant known as the Cliff House. Awesome views and excellent (albeit pricey) food. Definitely a fun drive down the old CA freeway.

It’s no coincidence they’re announcing this a week before Apple’s WWDC considering the rumors around Apple dumping Google Maps in favor of their own product which is supposed to do some 3D stuff as well. In fact me and a buddy were talking about this earlier and he links me an article from one of Apple fan blogs who are already whining about this and saying that Google is running scared in lieu of Apple’s pending announcement – that it showed in how rushed the announcement looked, how buggy the app was, and how it looked thrown together real fast. Those guys… I swear. I really hate when fans get so blinded by their own fandom that they can’t see the forest for the trees.
