I called today and played up some phoney story that I shattered my phone screen and wondered if I could have my upgrade moved up from NOVEMBER to now. I was denied of course. I immediately called back and asked the rep when my upgrade was (playing dumb) because I had unfortunately just broken my phone and he put me on hold. Came back saying a manager had approved moving up my upgrade and that he would notate it on my account. That’s a full 6 months my upgrade was moved.

Morale of the story: doesn’t hurt to try. And if you fail, call back. ;)
