Verizon Confirms That the Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 Update Will Arrive “Soon”

Verizon pinged us early this morning to confirm that the Android 4.0.4 update for the Galaxy Nexus will arrive “soon.” They didn’t provide a specific date, but when Big Red acknowledges these things publicly, you can expect it to happen any day now. Couple this note with the fact that the support docs for the update went live yesterday and I’d say we might see the magic as soon as today.

If you aren’t interested in manually updating through our instructions, hang tight, and start checking into Settings>About phone>System updates on a regular basis.

  • Bill Brasky

lol, I have had this for a while now. Do NOT wait for providers to offer updates. Get them yourself.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sonny-Causey/100000065395817 Sonny Causey

Lol…I spoke with a verizon rep today that said the OTA started rolling out today in batches depending on where you live would dictate to when you receive the update.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joe-Buck/100003482949493 Joe Buck

    not soon yet ?

  • Peter Rippe

After an email to customer service complaining about the lack of updates, i got a call from a pushy verizon rep insisting that it was GOOGLE delaying the release, not verizon….why do i seriously doubt this??

anybody else have any fun responses from CustyService?

    • Drummer62

well if Verizon has indeed signed off on it and google actually pushes it like we have been told, then where the heck is it already. I mean if Google pushes the update after Verizon signs off on it then where the hell is it already?? Maybe that rep is telling the truth as far as these last couple days are concerned but I’m sure it was Verizon testing the hell out of it that made it late in the first place for the last couple of months!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joe-Buck/100003482949493 Joe Buck

ok,surely it must me soon now

  • VRZ

YES UPDATE COMING SOON! *I hope they believe that* – Verizon

  • jwwilder

Would be awesome if this update fixed the issue with grayed out 3G/4G // wifi bars and no data signal. Didn’t used to be so bad, but the last month has seen it happen more and more often.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joe-Buck/100003482949493 Joe Buck

    is it soon yet?

  • http://www.vgchartz.com SuperChunk

    Anyone receive the OTA yet?

    • http://twitter.com/jsmith4260 JR Smith

      Nope

  • Drummer62

OMG looks like they pulled it AGAIN!! The update page now shows the old update ICL53F again…..WTF!!????

    http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/samsung_galaxy_nexus.pdf

    • Drummer62

never mind it seems to have reverted back to the new one again, whew :)

  • the real wayne brady

My “Google” “GSM” Galaxy Nexus received Android 4.0.4 as soon as I took it out of the box and turned it on. Carriers are the problem. Dump Verizon.

    • Bill Brasky

No need to dump Verizon. You just need to root phone and get updates yourself from XDA. Its REALLY easy and MUCH quicker.

      • the real wayne brady

…or save $40-$50 per months by using a Google Galaxy Nexus on an Att or Tmo prepaid network. Att StraighTalk coverage is excellent in my area and I am paying $40 less than I was on Verizon…and I get my updates straight from google, no rooting necessary

        • Bill Brasky

The real wayne brady would not care about saving $40-$50 per month now would he?

  • http://www.inerdtia.com/ inerdtia

    Soon is never soon enough.

  • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Holy crap, the new radios in this update IMM76K are horrible. My phone constantly switches between 3G and 4G at my work desk now. Before it stayed on 4G all day.

    • Greyhame

… and these are the radios from the OTA? Honest question. Are they FC04, FC05?

      • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

        Baseband version: I515.09 V.FC04 / I515.FC05

Sorry, these are the ones from the release from Google’s servers last week. I didn’t get the OTA. I don’t think anyone has. I suspect it will all be identical to the “leak” from last week/early May.

My phone switched from 3G to 4G and back like 2 times while composing this response. This is horrible.

        • Greyhame

Thanks for the reply. I’m living in a fringe area, and the FC04/05 radios really seem to have a hard time staying in EvDO (I’m not in a 4g area), so I would completely lose signal. Therefore, I’m running I515.09 V.FA02 / I515.FA02. Here’s to hoping Samsung can figure their radios out.

          • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

I have a very strong 3G tower next to me and the 4G signal goes up and down all day. It never drops completely out and is still plenty fast even when it is weak. The problem is that with the new radios, when the 4G signal drops down just a bit, the phone jumps to 3G (which is always strong). It jumps back and forth all day long. I’d rather have the weaker 4G signal than the strong 3G signal.

  • Greyhame

Considering putting my phone back to stock 4.0.2, then updating to see if it brings the same radios that leaked in early May (FC04, FC05). Anyone already know the answer?

(Yes, I do realize Kellex has the pic above showing these radios, but unless I’m mistaken, this is from the leak.)

  • ufmd

Hey, anyone know if it fixes the
known issue of me having to keep
    hitting the
    frecking update button every hour?
    That’s my biggest problem with
    this bitchin’ phone

  • yellowcanary73

Took you 6 months to get a 35 meg update ready what you only worked on it during toilet breaks.

  • Wyveryx

I play Blizzard games and have become accustomed to their definition of soon™. If VZW is anything like Blizzard with releases…get ready for a long road. The only real difference is that Blizzard actually releases something worthwhile at the end and VZW….well…

    • summit1986

Many will argue the “worthwhile” at the moment… Frankly, I love D3, but the rage is out there.

      • Wyveryx

Oh don’t I know it lol…But it still doesn’t stop me from playing and at least they do send out patches to fix bugs in a timely manner.

        • InyRules

And they COMMUNICATE with their customers. Sometimes I just want a company to acknowledge that something is wrong, and tell us a fix is underway.

          • Wyveryx

Yeah, just a pity that with the amount of subscribers VZW has that they can’t do better!

  • Ben Peterson

Sure would be nice if this update will fix the audio dropping / mic issues!

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Yes, but it adds horrible echo issues.

  • http://twitter.com/Bateluer Robert Boluyt

Its always been ‘soon’. :/ Give me an exact date.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=687014853 Jon Smith

I thought Droid Razr & Maxx were getting it before the “Galaga” Nexus?

  • David Cosme Jr.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of work has to happen before the release. I don’t think it does Verizon any good to hold out just for the sake of holding out. I’m interested in learning what kind of work has to be done before they release it. What do they need to wait for?

    • http://twitter.com/QSMinSD Q

No idea with cell phones.. I work in the IT industry on a very large intranet.. Whenever we do a mass update of network devices, we have to set up jobs in management servers and coordinate with NOC staff to carry out the maintenance. If there’s any other network Maintenance going, the mass updates will be delayed until we can get a maintenance window when the NOC staff will be free of other work.

  • Kris Brandt

Are they aware that Blizzard has a trademark on “Soon”?

    • http://Twitter.com/ContestsAccount bigrob60

Especially when it comes to Diablo 3 auction house.

    • summit1986

      That…. and Error 37

  • FortitudineVincimus

I truly love having a chuckle at all of the Nexus early adopter fanbois who just had to have the “pure google experience” and blather on and on about it.

and are still waiting for it today 6 months later… bwaa ha ha ha

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

As far as I know 4.0.2 (which is what we’ve been on for 6 months) is still the “pure Google experience”. The last time I checked my Nexus didn’t have any OEM skin on it.

Are you trying to say that a slightly outdated version is no longer “pure”?

    • geedee82

I’m pretty sure most of the “Nexus early adopter fanbois” are all rooted and rommed and enjoying the hell out of this phone

    • http://twitter.com/QSMinSD Q

I’m still have a chuckle at the Moto haters who swore they were going to have a newer ICS version than the Nexus.

  • kaufkin

    I GOT THE DOWNLOAD!!! –

we are talking about the update to My Verizon – Google Nexus this am, right? :-)

    • Packratako

      Nope thats not it.

      • kaufkin

y’all have NO sense of humor :-) Geeze I was pissed when I mistook one update for the other… (Hey, it was 5am…)

  • possomcrast1

Verizon holding it back again. They still don’t realize the Galaxy Nexus is basically a beta phone. Google tests every update with it’s ideal device first and we are supposed to get the updates the day they are released. But verizon spends 6 months trying to make something that’s not perfect, perfect. The whole point is the updates come out so often that any bugs can be fixed quickly. Not when verizon is keeping us on the same build for 7 months. I guess i’ll just keep using cyan 9 like I have since I got the phone.

    • Trill43

Your suppose to get updates in a timely matter and the problem is the carrier and the radios which unlocked phones don’t have to deal with hence GSM and wifi models get updates first which has been said numerous times.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=10602828 Mike Hilal

Who buys a nexus to run stock OS…that’s like hiring a prostitute to go fishing. It might be fun, but that’s not what she’s there for.

        • gorkon

Not EVERYONE who buys a Nexus buys it for that reason. Some buy it because it’s not sullied with Blur, TouchWiz, Sense or whatever abomination LG uses.

    • Knlegend1

This is too true….you should post this somewhere big where they can see it.

  • EvanTheGamer

Glad I didn’t manually update to 4.0.4 yet as I knew the OTA update would arrive eventually.

    • geedee82

put a ROM on that bitch! :P

      • EvanTheGamer

HAHAH, yeah, I know man, I’ve been planning to for the longest time, but just felt like I wanted to wait until I try out 4.0.4 first. But after that, I totally will.

But also, I really haven’t found the right ROM to install yet. All of ‘em sound awesome, but want to find that one that is above and beyond the rest.

        • geedee82

You might wanna check out Droid Theory’s Patient Zero, he packs ‘em full of goodies.

          • EvanTheGamer

Thanks, good to know, will check into it.

          • KleenDroid

I have to agree with suggesting Droid Theory’s roms. I always find the to be the smoothest most enjoyable. Lately I have also been enjoying the Hybryd which is a combination of Theory’s Patient Zero, AOKP and Morpher…While I do like AOKP I think Droid Theory really improves and makes everything better. The smoothness and sensitivity is awesome. I hope more than anything that Droid Theory sticks around and continues working on Nexus roms even though he bounces around and moves from phone to phone.

          • EvanTheGamer

Hey Kleen, is this the ROM you guys are referring to?

            http://www.droidforums.net/forum/th3ory-rom-nexus/207700-rom-axiom-patient-zero-m3-aokp-4-0-4-a.html

Looks like 4.0.4 might be the last version, but hell, if it’s near perfect and incredible, then I could live with that. Besides, might switch to another ROM eventually anyhow.

            Thanks!

          • KleenDroid

http://www.droidhive.com/forums/index.php?/forum/8-galaxy-nexus/ There are a bunch of Droid Theory roms here. Here is a link to Theory roms…
http://rombot.droidhive.com/ROMs/toro/ I am presently running DHO’s HybrYd of Droid Theory Morphr, AOKP… http://www.droidhive.com/forums/index.php?/topic/945-rom-hybryd/ and of course I am on the newest radios and bootloader which you can flash from Theory’s rombot. There are so many roms you can try and decide what is the best for you. And we have not even got into any Kernel discussions. For now just go with whatever are in the roms since they are pretty good and give good battery life. P.S. Theory is sick or something and his link in Patient Zero is dead. But you can find that file in the above rombot…

          • KleenDroid

            where did my post go?

          • EvanTheGamer

Refresh the site and they’ll all show up.

    • KleenDroid

Why wait for anything? You have a Nexus and you really don’t know what you have been missing all this time. I remember stock 4.02 from many months ago and you are really missing out on lots of great stuff. It makes me sad that they give us a Nexus and there are so many that don’t take advantage of what it offers.

      • EvanTheGamer

I actually do know what I’ve been missing. I’ve installed multiple ROMs on my not-forgotten Droid X way back when. So yeah, I know, I know. I know what it’s like installing kick-ass, faster than a roadrunner ROMs. It makes all the difference in the world.

But just haven’t had the time. And have been a bit lazy, too. I’d have to transfer everything from my phone to my computer, and back again, and well…just been lazy.

This is definitely the last time I buy a phone that doesn’t have an SD card slot though. I said that I’d prefer a phone with a replaceable battery as that’s more important than not having an SD card slot..well, I take that back, I prefer a phone with both a replaceable battery AND an SD card slot. An SD card make life a lot easier when installing ROMs as you can back up your entire phone to your SD card and not worry about wiping said SD card when installing ROMs. Much better that way.

        • KleenDroid

I get it… It would be a pain for someone who has been using the phone for a long time since to unlock the bootloader wipes the phone. I guess that’s why I did mine back at the beginning. Hey the Droid X was a nice phone and I liked mine. My son still has one and is still running an old Froyo rom that he is happy with and won’t let me update him… lol P.S. Installing roms on the Nexus does not erase anything on the “virtual sd card”. Everything is always saved and still there. The only time the phone gets wiped is the first time you unlock your bootloader. It’s just like having an sd card except you can’t remove it.

          • EvanTheGamer

REALLY!? Wow, I’m an idiot. I did not know this. lol Guess I never bothered to find out, or I always thought that since the Nexus does not have an SD card slot, when installing a ROM, everything on the phone gets wiped automatically. Wow, this is a great thing to know.

Also, I actually did unlock the bootloader/rooted my phone in the beginning as well(last December), but like I said, always thought everything would get wiped when installing ROMs, which is why I’ve been a bit lazy to doing so.

But now that I know this, I’ll definitely look into it more now. Wow, that’s awesome, thanks for that!

So just for clarification, the “sdcard” folder does not get touched at all? Just everything else, system data, etc, correct?

          • geedee82

Yeah thats correct. It never wipes anything you have saved in the internal storage (except for when you unlock the bootloader). I do data wipes all the time when I flash and I’ve never lost anything. Its partitioned to work just like an SD card, and its faster and more secure, I love it, I don’t see any need for an SD card myself because I much prefer just using a micro USB cord anyways.

          • KleenDroid

That is correct! If you already unlocked the bootloader you are ready to go… :) And no you are not an idiot since we all probably thought the same thing when we first learned it did not have an actual sd card. Actually this phone is a rom flashing dream come true and it’s very easy. If you install a Droid Theory rom he has a script built in that does all the wiping of cache, data… all you have to do is flash the rom and nothing else…the script does it all. If you get into trying lots of roms check out an app called Appextractor. It will allow you to install all apps or sms/mms from a backed up rom which makes things alot easier. I can flash a new rom and have everything restored and back to normal in 15 minutes. I have flashed a new rom at least 100 times on this phone and love it. Good luck and hope you start having some fun… I’d be happy to help in any way if you have any questions. It actually makes my day that you have discovered that the phone doesn’t get erased when flashing roms….Every once and awhile something good happens from all these useless posts… lol

          • EvanTheGamer

Wow, that is just truly incredible! Would have never known this fact if it wasn’t for Droid-Life, and who knows how many more months my Galaxy would have gone without a custom ROM on it. Poor Nexus, missing out on all the great things in life, like new clothes. Ouch!

And good to know about Droid Theory’s ROM. Will check it out.

Also, when you mention using Appextractor to restore all apps/sms from a ROM, are you talking about Backup Titanium? Or if I had a ROM previously installed and backed up everything, then in the next ROM, I could use Appextractor to restore everything? Can you use this app on Stock Android 4.0.2? So for instance, when I install a ROM, I could use the app to restore everything?

And damn, 100 ROMs you say? That’s quite a bit! haha, awesome!

Thanks for all the info dude, it’s highly appreciated!

          • KleenDroid

Appextractor restores from a rom backup. You could make a backup of your current setup before flashing anything (advisable). Most roms will auto restore all your regular market apps. Titanium Backup is another option if you already own it and are used to it. I just got hooked on appextractor since I can extract from any of my many rom backups. Let me know if you flash a rom and what you think after giving it a try.

I don’t know why, but for some reason when I select all on my GNex SD card, it doesn’t all copy and paste. I have to do it for individual folders, at least for most of them. Kind of annoying and time consuming.

I was in the same boat. I bought my Nexus the day it came out and didn’t bother unlocking or rooting. Well I finally got sick of waiting for the update so I went ahead and did everything on Monday. Took me a good chunk of time to get everything back in order on my phone. Go figure the next day we get this notice that VZW is ready to roll out the update. Oh well, like everyone is saying, it’ll probably be another 6 months! lol

      • http://twitter.com/CallOnColin Colin Huber

Don’t be a prick, bro. You speak so matter-of-factly. People can use their phones in the manner they want to. They don’t need you flexing around, telling people you’re sad for them because you think a non-rooted/unlocked phone is high-almighty.

        • KleenDroid

Wow, what’s with the anger? I feel sad for those that non stop complain of issues when the solution is so easily at their fingertips. But you are right that people can do whatever they want with their phones and not everyone wants to fend for themselves and fix something even if it’s so easy. I wonder why you feel the need to call people names… maybe it’s cause you a kid that got his first computer and phone and don’t know how to use them. I would be angry too. But if I were your father I would not only be sad, but also disappointed. Now what you got to say bro? lol

        • EvanTheGamer

He’s right though. The Nexus is a dream come true when it comes to ease of installing ROMs.

I might not be an idiot for not knowing that the “virtual sd card” will remain untouched when installing ROMs, but I am sure an idiot for not taking advantage and installing many different ROMs the last several months. I did miss out on that. All this time, I’ve been stuck with Android 4.0.2, and here I could have been enjoying life on the fast lane experimenting with the latest and greatest ROMs the Android Community has to offer.

But hey, ’tis life..and like the old sayings goes, “It’s never too late…” and “Better late than never.”.

Anyone heard anything about them putting a toggle down in the update that toggles your data speed down when you go over 5 gig for ones on unlimited ?

Are you talking about throttling? I thought Verizon had been throttling people for a while now.

I been using this image since May 1 and have no idea what that guy is talking about. Granted, I havent gone over 5GB in this month, but it sounds like BS

  • Michael Forte

I’m wondering what happened to that 4.0.5 update Blackmanx was talking about…

    • KleenDroid

If Verizon wasn’t involved and only dealt with Google there wold be lots of stuff we would see. By the time Verizon spends 2 months approving something there is always something newer.

  • bigfire

A wee bit late. I’ve been happy with the Deox 4.0.4 from XDA for a couple of weeks.

    • KleenDroid

Fabulous… That’s what a Nexus is all about. I am surprised there are people sitting around actually waiting for an update for this phone. “Rootzwiki, DroidHive, XDA are your friends.

  • frankandsimple

Hi Kellex… “soon” is not a confirmation fyi.

  • BrianWenger

“soon” = by the end of the year.

  • mike

just got prompted for the system update… running right now!

    • John

      pics/1080p vid or gtfo

      • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

At this point you may as well just believe him. It’s happening, even Verizon says so.

        • wickets

I’ve gone insane with this stuff…clicking system update very second or so……..!%#&^! work, getting update wayyyy more important haha

      • InyRules

        THIS!

  • DanWazz

This would be nice, if it gets here before this weekend.

  • http://twitter.com/utahcon Adam Barrett

When did “soon” become a confirmation? Wouldn’t a set date be confirmed, and actually hitting it be better?

  • Chris

    Soon = Another 6 months

    • michael arazan

I called verizon today and he said it could take up to 3 weeks to receive this update

  • Matt Gondek

There goes VZW with the S-word again

    • John

      Suckers?

      • Jacob121791

        No he meant “Screwing-over”… duh

      • Matt Gondek

I was thinking more along the lines of sonuvabiznitch

  • http://twitter.com/Real4life72 Real4life

I take anything verizon says with a grain of salt. Dissappointment seems to run amok with them.

  • BRAD

I HOPE IT ALLOWS ME TO CARRY ON A PHONE CONVERSATION FOR MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES WITHOUT THE MIC MUTING.

    • JDHokie

I hope it fixes the caps lock problem you’re having.

    • Matt Gondek

Hopefully it also fixes that pesky Caps-Lock bug ;-)

    • brad truelove

sorry… didn’t mean to take out my frustrations on anyone by yelling.
i love all of you. mean it.

      • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

        Nice last name

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

It does fix this. In fact, it fixes many radio/call audio issues. It’s right there in the release notes.

    • KleenDroid

No idea what you are talking about. But then again if I had an issue with my Nexus I would seek to fix it. I lasted stock for about a couple days. Why anyone would purchase a Nexus and then sit around with issues without spending a half hour to fix it I don’t understand. No phone is perfect, but by simply owning this phone you have been given the opportunity to take control of the device and resolve all this little stuff. I got my phone on day one and I had lots of problems right off. I was losing signal and dropping calls frequently. Fortunately it was all resolved quickly.

  • realfoxm

    People will believe anything

  • Tim Swann

I am very happy with Liquid as my daily driver and running the 4.0.4 radios

    • KleenDroid

Great! That’s what a Nexus is all about…. I see there are a few who gave negative scores because they are grumpy and are still sitting on stock all this time. They have a Nexus and don’t know what to do with it. I guess I would be upset also if I didn’t know what to do with this awesome phone.

  • Long Nguyen

    Holding my breath…NOW!

    • Packratako

Dont u cant hold it for a week. Lol

    thats a good sign =]

  • garbagedick

Just in time for my dock to arrive tomorrow

    • Justin Savarese

Which dock do you speak of?

      • garbagedick
        • InyRules

          Wow, $90 for that?

        • http://twitter.com/standardsdt Dave Tarantula

You got gipped on that. You could have picked it up for $50 or so elsewhere.

          • garbagedick

for the official one that uses the pins? links?

          • http://twitter.com/standardsdt Dave Tarantula

Well this sucks, I just pulled up the link and the page now says (not compatible with Verizon or Sprint version). But here’s the link anyways.

            http://www.expansys-usa.com/samsung-google-galaxy-nexus-desk-stand-226695/

It turns out that Expansys Usa is only carrying the multimedia dock for the VZW version for some reason. But I would assume, that if they ever do carry our models desk stand it’ll probably be priced like the other one.

            http://www.expansys-usa.com/info.aspx?i=225460

          • garbagedick

i know of expansys, they have mentioned they have no intention of stocking the verizon/sprint version because the delays frustrated them. this was a gift anyways, so im not too concerned about what was paid

          • garbagedick

            link?

    • fallsgable

$90 for that thing????? How long have you BEEN a Crack addict???

      • garbagedick

it was a gift, from a crack baby actually

  • http://twitter.com/Wil_Payne Wil Payne

Likely Scenario:4.0.4 update released on LTE devices June 26.
5.0.0 announced, released, and updated to HSPA+ devices June 27.
Another great day to be a VZW customer.

    • Nobody

More likely scenario, your dates are reversed.

    • http://twitter.com/standardsdt Dave Tarantula

Jelly Been has been possibly confirmed as 4.1 not 5.0 from a log file for the Nexus 7 Tablet.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=674902817 Zach Davis

No matter how long it takes Verizon to push this out, I’m already enjoying 4.0.4 from AOKP :D

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

The official IMM76K Verizon update includes many radio/audio/carrier specific fixes that your AOKP ROM does not have. I’m sure it will soon enough though.

      • KleenDroid

If we have already updated to the new radios what is it that you think will be different?

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=674902817 Zach Davis

Very true. I myself haven’t had radio issues, I’ve been using the IMM76K radios (FC04/FC05) for a while and haven’t had any dropped data occurrences. What kind of audio fixes do you mean?

        • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

While on a call, if you’ve ever experienced popping, crackling, or mic cutout issues on 4.0.2, then this update fixes those. Those are not OS level issues. Those are Verizon specific issues that only this update includes fixes to.

          • KleenDroid

It’s been out for a while now

          • mikem84

Is it possible that this update has something that the previous release on May 1 doesn’t. I’ve been running IMM76K plus radios and still have the mic cutout.

          • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Nope, they are both build IMM76K. They are the same. As for the mic cutting out, if you’re still getting it, I guess they didn’t squish that bug entirely.

        • Bill Brasky

Same here. I am on Liquid 1.4 (4.0.4) with FC04/FC05 radios. The radios work great. LeanKernel. Phone is blazing. Almost twice as fast as it was when I got it stock.

    • Dingus

      Cool story bro!

  • RW-1

On the IMM30B, working great, including radios. since I’d have to go back to ICL53F, not enthused, may either just flash the new radios, or wait it out to the next one … “If it isn’t broke ….”

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1225590152 Robert Allaway

    Sigh…

I want ICS for my Razr MAXX! I’m getting antsy!

    • LiterofCola

Keep calm, breathe in, and out. It’ll come. But I have a feeling it won’t be pushed over the air until this Nexus update is pushed, since it’s supposed to be the first one with the latest and greatest. If that’s the case, then hurry up and push the Nexus update out.

      • KleenDroid

I am not concerned about my Nexus having the latest and greatest first. Because whatever phone you have there are always leaks which allows you to install it anyway. And it’s always long before those that just sit back and wait for official updates to roll out. I hope that all the phones get the ICS update soon since it’s been long enough now. I also HOPE the Razr HD will be released with an unlocked bootloader. I would love nothing more that to be able to come back to Motorola.

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Is there no daily driver ICS ROM for the RAZR?

  • David Hussey

Any word if the update will get pushed if we’re running the leaked IMM30B?

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

It won’t. This particular update is an incremental update from ICL53F to IMM76K. It will not apply to your phone running anything other than stock 4.0.2 ICL53F.

    • KleenDroid

No need to worry about it. As soon as the official update comes out all of the roms will be based off it overnight. All you will have to do is update your radios and install a new rom of your choice. There is never a need to return to stock to receive an update.

  • Sirx

I’ve been abusing that little button for weeks! You mean it might actually do something besides update the time now?! :-D
