I have a Droid X2 but went with CM7 and never looked back. With the latest (CM7.2.0 RC1) this phone is honestly fast as hell. However it is nice to see Motorola still updating it along with the Droid 3. Too bad there's no chance neither of them will see ICS, not from Motorola anyway.

No problem! I'm actually curious to see what the changelog for the X2 entails...I used to have an X2 and liked it at first, but the 2.3 update in August 2011 totally ruined the phone for me. I had constant random reboots on it plus they messed up the battery life indicator after another update in October 2010. I exchanged it 3 times and finally told Verizon to give me another phone so they gave me the D3. Smooth sailing ever since.

So yeah, I would like to see what the X2 changelog is :)

I received the Droid 3 soak test this morning. So far the only difference I've noticed is that they've improved the camera a bit. It still takes too long to open up IMO, but it takes pictures a bit faster now so that's good.

Here is the full changelog for the D3 update:

+ Google Security Patch has been added to improve the security level.
+ Fixed issue where the device may power ON without user interaction.
+ Avoid device interruption when accessing an application prior to the storage being fully mounted on the device.
+ Improvements in device stability help avoid device power cycles.
+ When connected to a Bluetooth® headset or HDMI cable, the device will no longer lock up and power cycle.
+ Device is enabled with the Wireless Alerting System.
+ Device will enter sleep mode successfully.
Email, Messaging & Data:
+ Swype® defaults to English.
+ Jump to the most recent message after changing the device orientation while in message list view.
Call Features:
+ Use a wired headset without the interruption of a high pitched tone.
+ Within the notification area, the Visual Voice Mail alert stating the server is not responding after a power-up has been removed.
+ Plus code dialing has been enhanced, improving the experience while traveling.
Applications and Widgets:
+ Playback media can be heard while using a Bluetooth® headset.
+ Place a call to the appropriate recipient using the contact widget.
+ When moving applications to the SD card, shortcuts to these Apps will remain.
+ Improved performance of Messaging Application after prolonged use.
+ After updating the contact database from the Messaging App, the Messaging UI will display the latest contact information.
+ Purchased ringtones are now able to be downloaded, saved, and used where appropriate.
+ Contact pictures display properly in Google Voice.
+VZ Navigator 3D City is now preloaded.
+ Resolved excessive data usages and continuous downloading for VZ Navigator® 3D City downloads.
+ Successfully post and play videos on Facebook®.
+ Improvements to the camera’s auto focus will reduce the shutter response time and enhance the quality of the captured imagery.

Too late, Motorola. Way too late. The bugs in the D3 lasted far longer than an acceptable timeframe to push an update out. I ditched my D3 and even sacrificed my keyboard when I recently bought my Rezound. Do I miss my keyboard right now? Sure, but it's not the end of the world and I absolutely love my Rezound and its instant manufacturer dev support upon purchase. You'll never see me touting another Motorola device after their repeated failures recently. This is coming from a customer that has owned Motorola devices all the way back to the first digital Startac in the mid 90's.
