a good deal? are you joking? I sell Phones at a major retail store,,,,,,I’m sure you can guess which one. anyways, all the major players ( t-mobile, virgin mobile, at&t ,straight talk, boost mobile) sell android smartphones on fully unlimited pre-paid plans ranging from $40-$55, which seems to be about what average consumers are willing to pay without throwing a fit (and honestly it seems like a decent price for the service). Now Verizon is offering less service for a more expensive pre-paid plan? how is this a good deal exactly. The unlimited talk and text is nice, but you only get 1gb of data AND it cost $80 a month!!!! its really no different from verizons contract plans at that price, and therein lies the trick.

now lets be fair. admittedly out of all the carriers verizon has the biggest range of service/reception, so its no surprise they are gonna charge a bit more money because they provide better quality when it comes to coverage. And it was only inevitable they jumped into the smartphone/android pre-paid game to keep up with the competition,BUT, charging double the competition is insane, especially for only getting 1gb of data. if verizon charged $55-$60 for unlimited talk/text, and maybe gave you 5-10gb of data(or unlimited like the rest of the carriers), then I suppose it would be a fair deal. but currently its a rip off unless you just like to waste money

I have nothing against verizon personally, and im not gonna play the “your just being cheap” game, I’m just talking from the mouth of an average consumer, and when I do the math its clear I’d just be wasting a bunch of money on this plan, plain and simple.

To who’s pocket? Like I said. Not everyone is willing and able, but I respect someone more if they say I can’t afford it appose to its a ripoff. Why buy a Audi or BMW when a Honda does the same right. Same concept.

u r a dum arse. It’s so easy to use up multiple gigs of data with 4g in a day- i am a CS major so i do a lot of work on my laptop and I have internet access everywhere i go with foxfi and streaming movies on netflix in HD WILL use a ton of data FAST. If you can make 1 gig last you a month then you dont even need to have a smartphone cause whatever ur doing can be done on a dummy phone.

you guys are just cheap, stop complaining. If you like it then get it. If you dont then dont, but dont say its overpriced. its just not what you are willing to pay. many people are. those who find the benefit of verizon and not dealing with horrible services from other companies will get it and wont mind. Stop trying to compare verizon plans to other carriers just because some of you wont pay that much for what it comes with. Its not the same, it is what it is and there is obviously a reason why. Again there’s reason why they have over 110 million being the most “expensive”.

I use about 1 gig data / month, but only 40 minutes.

Pre-paid is also paying up front for service each month. There is no contract with those types of pre-paid plans.

Wrong stereotype.

Plenty of pre-paid subscribers are legal US citizens. They do not want to get locked into a long term contract, nor do they want a surprise at the end of the month when they get their bill. As a pre-paid subcriber, I pay up front and I know what my bill will be every month. I do not get nickled and dimed by crooks like Verizon.

Samsung Illusion? What POS phone. If you want to go pre-paid, have options of a decent phone, pay less, and get “4G” speeds, then go with T-Mobile.
