I see you don’t want to root. Thats understandable, but fact is, if you root/custom rom your phone you literally won’t have the issues you mentioned, besides the obvious fact that Android does in fact often get apps later and 2nd class versions at that.

That said, even after the update I think Temple Run still sucks quite a bit compared to the iOS version, I’ve played them side by side on a Gnexus and an iPod Touch and I can easily score 5million+ on the touch but can’t top 2mil on the Android edition just because its laggy and difficult to control compared to the iOS edition. I think the graphics are lower-res too, whole screen looks blurry compared to the sharpness of the iPod touch (4th gen). I know I have a 720p display on the Nexus but it doesn’t look like it. Perhaps they just copied the graphics to Android without a proper attempt at resizing them.

this update seems to now work with some snapdragon processors like htc rezound because before the update the game didnt show up at all meaning it was not compatible.. so i checked on the pc at play store and it was not compatible but todays update it now works and its fun!

I would say finally. This game has multi-million users, it felt like a alpha build with some obvious 0day bugs that should have been fixed ASAP.

A couple of things to remember:
1. Not many smartphone users play games on their phones. They get boring quickly.
2. Even though Apple gets SOME good games faster than Android, their variety of apps is not as good as Android’s because Android allows all types of apps.
3. Force closing occurs because of three reasons:
- No ram left
- Bad update ( due to manufacturer )
- App’s fault.

Buying a Nexus will decrease the amount of lag and reboots dramatically. I don’t own one, but it’s common sense. Since the device is supported by Google, Google would work out an update to fix the bug right away, which is why Nexus devices are awesome.

In conclusion, get a Nexus and test it for a week or two. You will certainly be impressed. If Jelly Bean comes out, you won’t be stuck on ICS, you will have Jelly Bean two weeks after it comes out.
And of course, there are LOTS of roms for the nexus to customize your phone in any way you want.
