That would be dumb because the application already does that for Android and iOS. This is about STREAMING.

redbox stood up to movie companies and lost warner bros. , all their movies, they said they would just buy their movies elsewhere for their company to use for rent, but not a lot of people think it is legal, and i’m sure we’ll see a lawsuit warner bros. vs redbox in the near future

If you are talking about the Redbox app that allows you to reserve a movie at a kiosk near you, then Android has had that for at least a year now. I have it on my phone now, been using it ever since I moved to an area that doesn’t have any Blockbusters.

I wonder if OTA prices will compare to physical rentals? How Verizon Video and Redbox services will compare, and if Verizon will combine the two? And will Google lower prices on market rentals?

Verizon has the smart app bundle (NFL, Videos, VVM, and Navigator) now. If Redbox is used, Verizon could finally get more people to start using their services. ( how many use them now, I only use NFL, I may uninstall if I can’t get free next year.)
