3D is a gimmick? You could have said the same thing about color television while watching your black & whites. Or about stereo music when we already had mono. Or about high resolution and high density screens when we had VGA (monitors, laptops, phones, watches, etc.).

Fact: humans have two eyes for stereo vision. Fact: 3D lets you watch videos and see photos that are closer to the original scene. Fact: 3D allows for more useful UI innovations, most of which haven’t been created yet.3D isn’t going away; we’re moving toward it.

LG sucks and they can’t even roll out the Gingerbread update for the LG Thrill. I wouldn’t expect an update/support for this phone ether.

Completely agree about 3D being a gimmick. I avoid going to 3D movies and purposely wait until the 2D version comes out.

I like options. If I feel like 3D I can turn it on. If I dont I can turn it off. It doesn’t change the price of the phone (Evo3D costs the same as other similarly specc’d non-3D phones). Android is about options and I want them all. I’ll decide what I’m in the mood for, but give me the option to choose.

The problem is the 3D on the phone is different than the 3D on your tv. The 3D on your phone is actually bad for your eyes (hence why people were complaining – cause it actually does mess up your eyes (similar to the Nintendo 3DS) if you view it that way for too long).

It may be an option, but that is one option that most pro-choicers (Android fans) would rather not have. Better to put the money wasted on that gimmick to better use (processors, displays, battery, etc.).

I think the option of having 3d is awesome, especially if it doesn’t hurt the phone like add thickness to it or eat up more battery somehow. if 3d screens where built into more phones we’d have more apps and games to support it and i’d imagine a few would be pretty could.

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to have it in your phone as long as you have the option to turn it on and off.

My girlfriend has the evo 3d and it hurts my eyes to look at the 3d pictures. The phone is also incredible heavy. I also think the big two cameras on the back is annoying. I have no use for a 3d smartphone and don’t think I ever will.
