As you can see, it’s Gingerbread (Android 2.3.5) for the Samsung Fascinate onVerizon. According to our trusted source, Big Red has finally started “field testing” the software which is a good sign that Fascinate owners may actually see it at some point in the near future. As compared to????? the Razr? cause I’m pretty sure the Nexus is thinner than pretty much every single phone other than the Razr…I could be wrong though

If by “replacement” you mean a refurbished device… And if by a “refurbished device” you mean that you’ll go through hell and back to get a phone that actually works… And if you do go through 6 of these devices, they may consider moving you to a different phone, but you’ll still have to pay for it. So in 3-6 months time, if you’re looking that far out to get a new phone, sure… Talking to Verizon may do something for you, but the time you spend on the phone with them is likely better suited to mowing lawns as a side job to get money to buy a phone out of contract and tell Verizon to stuff it where the sun dont shine.

John, do you think our file system on the fascinate will also become ext4 instead of rfs? What I don’t get is why would Samsung only do this for the charge and not the fascinate? I want our phones to scream too.

Go to XDA. There’s a 2.3.5 and a 2.3.6 leak out there. Really easy.

15 minutes cradle to grave and you’ll have GB on the Charge.

I can’t even know what you people are talking about, this phone is AMAZING! The screen is reidiculous, the camera is more than adequate for a PHONE, and the phone itself is thinner than a Sharpie…sometimes I click on these articles just to read the comments, you all are hilarious! I dumped the OG for this off eBay and haven’t looked back, I love this phone! I was planning on only using it until the Vigor came out…and then the Nexus….but who knows, I really have no major complaints about this phone so I will probably keep it, especially if it gets bumped up to 2.3.5 (2.2.2 right now)…

Meh, I have been running the EP4PC 2.3.6 Gingerbread build for the Charge that leaked a few weeks ago, and Samsung finally moved the build to EXT4 instead of RFS and the thing screams. So I’m sure that’s on its way too.

Release date was 09/10… that would be 14 months, not 2 years… 09/12 would be 2 years. I honestly think people are starting to forget when devices actually came out now….

How do you mean that Kellex? Will it be faster? I recently got an extended 3500 mAh battery for my Fascinate and that has freed me from having to be plugged in more than unplugged. Really love the length of the charge I get now. Also, I just got an update on my Galaxy 7″ (original version) to 2.3.5 but I can’t really tell what has changed. Any information on that would be appreciated.
