its based on the devices screen size, they recently (a few months ago) started making various apk’s available for the same app, that way the developer could have a smaller sized apk for multiple devices. for example, the could have an apk for every different screen size or OS version to make it more stable and less of a size hog. Droid Eris uses a small screen than most devices with android today, so could be why your seeing a difference in size.

Wow, how exactly do you figure were screwed over? Its coming to Verizon first, i think that the reason they didn’t announce or show off the LTE version is because Verizon had just announced the DROID RAZR, it would make stupid business sense to announce two major handsets the same day and expect it to not hurt sales on either device.
