You have no idea what you’re talking about. You can’t just “sell a plug” that makes a laptop dual boot. It requires programming on the laptop/lapdock side. They could potentially try to develop something to do what you’re talking about, but it’s not going to be plug&play, which is the level most customers need products to be at, and what will sell. On top of that, it’s a completely different hardware setup. A laptop powered up is going to automatically be running the processor, hard drive, motherboard, etc, etc, so you’re not going to get the same battery efficiency as from one of these lapdocks. I agree that the kind of device you’re talking about might be neat, but it’s not going to be a $200-300 device.

The lapdock is a loser all around. Took Motorola three weeks and many, many phone calls to finally ship me one. It worked for 48 hours and now won’t load the webtop. Three attempts with tech support to fix and they have no idea why not. Their system doesn’t recognize the serial number, so they can’t process the repair order. Here I sit with a useless piece of electronics and no way to get it fixed. Motorola customer service is so inept that I would never recommend trying to deal with them.

The main difference between the Atrix and Bionic lapdock is the reverse placement of the HDMI and USB ports. That being said, you could easily get HDMI and USB extensions and use either the Atrix or Bionic just as this lapdock 100.

Love the LapDock BUT at $299 meh, at $199 we are getting close! and at $99 THAT’S WHERE I SEE THE SWEET SPOT FOR THIS TYPE OF DEVICE!

Great idea Moto, just too pricey at this point, in my opinion of course

I would like to see a tablet that can synch up to any Android device and have complete access to all of your phone files and mirror your device as if you’re looking at your phone with the ability to do any functions on the device via tablet.
