Internal sources were saying that Verizon was scheduled to be there for the announcement but it was too obvious if they advertised it like that, so instead they pushed up the Motorola announcement to fill the gap.

I think they should name it the Verizon Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus Droid SIII Touch 4G or VSGGNDS3T4G. That would put that snarky Dan Hesse in his place and give Rene Ritchie something to laugh at in Mobile Nations meetings too.

Did the news that the “Galaxy Nexus” would be different than the “Prime” on Verizon not pan out to be true? I thought I read it on all the blogs like a week ago? The Verizon version would be different, right? Everyone was all pissed about it, like Verizon was getting the “lesser spec” device. If that’s the case, would this phone (“Galaxy Nexus”) be the non-Verizon version and the Nexus Prime still be the Verizon version?

I’m glad that it took on the “Galaxy” line. It means for sure that Samsung will put all of their efforts into this phone since it’s carrying their “it” phone name.

Usable screen size is 4.3″ with menu keys located on screen. I think you only get the full screen when watching 720 content. Just sayin….

Well, to be fair, the readers were specifically asked whether or not they were buying the name “Galaxy Nexus” in this article.

Also, while I agree that the actual names of phones have gotten pretty ridiculous, the actual naming conventions used by all major brands and / or lines have remained consistent and universal. That’s the point I’m trying to get across. I find it hard to believe that this phone would buck the trend in universal use by all lines / brands of smartphones, in addition to basically all consumer products period.
