You people are whacked thinking all this conspiracy crap. They are both Pentile, both Super AMOLED and Super AMOLED Plus have less green sub pixels to closer match the human eye’s perception of color in life. The difference is an added white sub pixel and the different pixel array to save energy. That’s it….. they didn’t put back any green sub pixels because that’s what makes Super AMOLED more life like in the first place. It all based on the design changes that make it closer matched to the human eye and now being better aligned. Which is how PenTile came into being in the first place!!! ….. the inventor was a woman who noticed that our eye’s are more sensitive to green. So she took around 30% of the green sub pixels out! ….and that doesn’t change the over all pixel count you idiots are trying to use to prove it is not HD!!!

Get your thinking caps back on and stop this asinine conspiracy theory crap!!!

qHD & 720p are screen resolutions the pentile part is how they put the screen together.

Yes they all used pintiles but they all didn’t use the same tech to make the sub pixels that is what makes the finance here RGBW us different from RGB, RG-BG, etc……..

Well it’s not just the blocky subpixel pattern; the more obvious negatives of PenTile are poorer color accuracy (bluer whites) and a green and blue edge to white objects (particularly text). I doubt it will bother me at this resolution/ppi but even so I would rather have a lower resolution with an RGB pattern.

That is part of what I am saying. Only after the DX2 and Atrix did people really start to grumble about the term pentile. It is just the layout of the subpixels. Moto uses a different layout and it is not SAMOLED, so people are complaining about it. For quite a while, everyone was praising the SGS screen for being vivid and bright. I can’t count the number of reviews that thought that screen was amazing. There was a little fuss about its subpixel layout (pentile matrix RGBG) for a while, but nothing like what Moto stirred up by using the “pentile matrix RGBW” layout on a non SAMOLED.

Bottom line is that when a new technology comes out that is better, the older one that used to be the best is now not as good and everyone complains about the older technology that they once heralded as great. Blah, I’m done.
