HTC Vigor Benchmark Spotted, Headed to Verizon with 1.5GHz Dual-core Processor and 720p HD Display?

Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor to attempt to write this post.  What you are looking at, is a (unconfirmed) benchmark for the HTC Vigor that could be headed to Verizon.  If what we are seeing is to be believed, the device (ADR6425LVW) will run Qualcomm’s new 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor that includes the brand new Adreno 220 GPU – a processor and GPU set that at least on paper, might be one of the most impressive we’ve ever seen.  It gets better though.  Check out the display resolution of 1280×720…yep, 720p HD resolution right there.

It’s also running Android 2.3.4 at this time, but with a resolution like that, we’re thinking Ice Cream Sandwich would be a likely candidate come launch; especially if rumors of on-screen home/search/back buttons are to be believed.

To give you a refresher, here is a video of this new processor and GPU combo from Qualcomm in action:

And, I’m excited.

Ok, the graphics may be hot, but I am most in love with the true Dolby 5.1 output.  If you can push 5.1 out via Bluetooth, like I do now (minus 5.1) with my Thunderbolt pushing Pandora to my car’s stereo, then I am officially salivating!!

  • daniel walsh

i was totally going to get the nexus prime, but now i have to chose which device is better

  • http://iamandroid.co/profile/rocktoonz Rocktoonz

if that thing is LTE and doesn’t have the Thunderbolt’s battery problems….holy ****!

Probably not coming till christmas at the earliest.

  • Anonymous

And why do people get so excited?
By the time this releases, we will have news of a 2gHZ dual core.
    Then you’ll wait for that.

Then when thats releasing here comes the rumors of the Quad Core phones.

    Maybe you’ll wait for that?

    • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

      exactly

    • DroidzFX

I know I still got a flip phone….when will it end?

      • Knightcrusader

    • daniel walsh

nexus prime or htc vigor. decisions

      • ExplosiveBJ

some rumors say that the nexus prime will have nvidias kal-el quad core processor.

  • Anonymous

Android is taking over, I can’t wait to see Icecream on something like this!!! WOW

    • daniel walsh

      2 ics devices on verizon

  • Anonymous

    But its snapdragon…

there 1.2 gHZ dual core is slower than most 1gHZ

    • jimbob

      Their*

    • Anonymous

      Wrong, its much faster

      • Anonymous

No, it’s not.  OMAP4 and Exynos are both faster.

        • ExplosiveBJ

What about my baby the DX2? where does tegra stand in this dual core battle?

          • Anonymous

It’s roughly on par with the dual core Snapdragon.

  • http://twitter.com/nashmax73 TomAss (TA)

Anybody got pics of this device???

  • http://www.techefficacy.com JD

I will have to buy this out of contract….. maybe I should just get a cheap droid 3 for now.

  • Interstellarmind

i’m so happy. F the bionic, F even the SGSII. LONG LIVE HTC!!!

  • Jester4281

Awesome, I am as excited about this phone as I was my kickass Thunderbolt, hopefully I dont get the same let downs.

    Oh my..

  • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

This wont drop for awhile I beleive qualcomm said its dual core will be ready towards the end of the year so I wont hold my breath for the phone

    • daniel walsh

they already have dual core out

      • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

        for qualcomm are u sure

        • Anonymous

Yes, this is just an updated version of their current dual core which is used in the Sensation and Evo 3D.

  • daniel walsh

    this looks awesome

  • Anonymous

This is the same processor and GPU as in the Sensation and Evo 3D just on a smaller die process and capable of higher clock speeds so it can compete with the Exynos and OMAP4.

  • Anonymous

HTC? Verizon? 36FPS Max? How about no.

  • Anonymous

All the sudden the OG Droid posts from the Bionic article just got edited.  They aren’t that broken after all and maybe has a few months left in it…

Tis can’t be a Verizon phone, that’s impossible. I knew HTC would bring something to the table at the end of the year, but this far sup passes my expectation.

  • sog805

it will just be a faster thunderbolt but instead of 4 hours of battery life it will be 2 hours

  • saul ruiz

wow…yup i will play the waiting game  and let verizon earn my 2year re-up

  • Tarsis Brito

what do you think that moto wont come out with something better lol they always get the best technology

  • Cropley21

Your shitting me…those are the specs that are suppose to be on my thunderbolt

  • Anonymous

I’m thinking the Bionic can suck it.

  • http://profiles.google.com/djnapieralski DJ Napieralski

    Um, bionic, GTFO.

  • Anonymous

This will be a great device…when it is relessed in 2013. Can anyone say thunderbolt?

  • prop joe

I can’t wait for the phone that comes out after this phone! That’s the one I’m getting. The 1080p octo-core.

Looks like the Hypebeast 3000 has new fuel in it.  Now this is a phone that i would gladly upgrade too.  Fingers crossed for December release.

  • Hinder123portillo

the best way to start the day look at droid life and see a new device pop up :)

  • EC8CH

Still rather see the real Nexus Prime on VZW… not some imitation

  • daniel walsh

samsung was chosen for the nexus prime. 2 ics devices on verizon being released at the same time.

  • FortitudineVincimus

    Bionic says what?

    Hello Vigor

Part of me hopes its true just so I can move on from this whole f****** Bionic BS

  • DAN

This is why people choose iPhone…lol….Because a new and improved phone doesn’t come out every 2 weeks. Buyers remorse is MUCH less when buying an iphone

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Michael-Forte/542650247 Michael Forte

With the iPhone you’re always buying old tech :) but Steve Jobs will tell you its magic.

    • Anonymous

Yeah, because that way you can just live with inferior technology for the year. Life is less stressful when you’re ignorant to your surroundings.

  • Hinder123portillo

bye bye droid bionic and SSll:)

so much news in the morning.  HW can wait!

  • daniel walsh

    nice specs

  • Jeremy Roberts

    But! Is it LTE?

  • Jeremy Roberts

    But! Is it LTE?

    • Anonymous

I would assume that after the Bionic, every major device would be LTE.  And this looks pretty major. :)

      • daniel walsh

i agree. is this a nexus device or what

        • DAN

          I hope so!

The best part is it wont say “MOTOROLA” on it anywhere!

      • Vanilla Ice

So what? Sense sucks. Too bad it MOST likely wont be stock. Just look at the sensation, LAGS! Id take an unlocked Motorola with 1ghz dual core with ZERO lag.

Moto doesn’t make unlocked phones. All HTC phones are unlocked.

          • Anonymous

            My Thunderbolt isn’t unlocked.

          • Dave WB00

how not? We can flash custom kernels, radios and ROMs. coming from a DX, the TBolt seems like an unlocked Android wonderland

          • palomosan

Unless you’re rooted my friend, then yes your Tbolt came locked.

Why you think you have to downgrade in order to root the phone.

          • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

yeah bravo wants to live in a world where htc has zero flaws..must be off his meds

          • Anonymous

Well technically they haven’t unlocked any yet.  But they say they will, just like Motorola said they will. :P

          • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

oh bravo got owned again by the big man

          • Daniel Brown

            My OG Droid says otherwise…

          • johnny

thats the only moto phone that does say otherwise.

          • johnny

thats the only moto phone that does say otherwise.

            Wait till November ;)

          • http://www.facebook.com/TJHRULZ tjhrulz

Speaking of that, this phones specs are almost exact to the Nexus Prime rumor BGR reported the other day.

HTC phones are locked(sensation, evo 3d) so yeah they arent all unlocked and they said they will unlock them but until it happens you cant say they are unlocked.

        • 1ofdakoolkidz

          Yeah, like the DX2. Booo

      • Anonymous

        Give it a rest already.

        • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

Right we all know that you love htc for some odd reason but get a life

      • Anonymous

But the battery will also die in 3 hours like the thunderbolt lol.

    • DroidzFX

Well my prediction was answered sooner than I thought.

    • palomosan

My next Phone, it’s about time we get some HTC dual core love.

    • Anonymous

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panas0nic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://to.ly/aQrp

  • http://profiles.google.com/karbonkopy9 Timothy Reider

    Dude, hello future TB upgrade….

  • Anonymous

    holy bionic

  • Anonymous

Finally, a device on the horizon worth getting excited about.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Michael-Forte/542650247 Michael Forte

It will get delayed again and again and right as it’s about to release a new phone with quad core and Android 5.0 Jellybean will show up. I swear they leak these things at the most appropriate times lol.

      • Anonymous

That may be true, but if it isn’t made by Motorola I would buy it. If the Bionic was made by LG I’d be more excited.

        • Wunderwaffe

          Wow you have problems.

      • SPN

        Hahahahahaha jellybean

      • Anonymous

Yep. Android is growing almost TOO fast for me.
That 1.5 gHZ dual core with 720p screen will be beats within weeks.

Honestly, now I couldn’t care less if my device is behind the pack. Now all of them are.

Get one you like and stay with it.
Its not worth waiting months for this.

    • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

        • Anonymous

The Bionic isn’t out, you’re an idiot.

    • Anonymous

But is it a tablet or phone?  I would bet on tablet.  It seems like HTC is making tablets for every carrier now.
