i thought motorola was using DDR2 ram for this phone? if i am correct then it replaces the need for 1GB of standard phone ram when it comes to speed and real world performance. and also android puts ram in a frozen state when it comes to multitasking so you dont really need that much after all

If you think blur caused clutter on android on the D2, it’s probably for the best that you had a blur’d phone, because Sense or Touchwiz would have made you kill yourself

Whoa now. RAM is measured in speed just as much as CPU is. What you’re referring to is SIZE of RAM and it being measured in MB’s and GB’s.

The battery life on this phone is absurdly bad. I got it to compliment my Droid Charge, but my Charge has slightly better battery life. Taking it back today.

Same problem here with my DX. Moto’s GB updated destroyed 50% of the DX’s out there – daily self-reboots, complete loss of voice and 3G every day or two. I have yet to be able to run the phone more than 2 days. Reboots twice daily are common.

VZW already replaced the phone once and the problems are the same.

Even running in safe mode with no background apps, the problem does not go away. That rules out the hardware and apps – Moto’s GB just sucks!

Since the D3 is running the latest GB, I would say that it is more than enough for it. As for a year from now, it shouldn’t be a problem.

FYI: I, too, am one of those people can’t afford a new phone every 6 months. I get stuck with phones for 2 years as well.

They delay it because they want Moto’s update to work with their bloat. Not to mention that the newest GB works just fine with the latest Blur, further proving my point.
