Great idea, but poorly executed.

1. you have a 25-picture upload limit with the free version, which the description in the market never mentions. You assume you can take pictures with the free version and then manually upload the photos later – the premium version adds automatic syncing.

2. although you can set a watch folder on your phone, if you have more than 25 pictures already on your camera, DropSnap automatically starts uploading photos from your default picture folder. You can’t change this, even if you set a different watch folder before it starts syncing

3. you can’t set the Dropbox destination folder – it’s set to Photos/Dropsnap.The app could use a quick setup wizard asking you which folder you want to use. For me, I process all photos with Vignette so I’d want my Vignette folder, and I already have a Vignette folder in Dropbox that I’d want to sync to.

Fix these issues and I might consider purchasing.

Every time I take a picture on my phone, it immediately gets sent via Sugar Sync. I’m not sure what part of this is not considered instant. I was not aware of a a timer that must elapse before the next one can go up, but that is irrelevant to me as I don’t rapid-fire take pics with my cell phone. it’s a one-off here and there.

How does showing me that it syncs automatically, which we already established, prove that it syncs instantly? If you actually tested your claim, you’d see it’s not true and all you are doing is spamming your referral link.

Wait, much more powerful than DropSnap, 20% cheaper, and from a developer I am already a fan of? Bought it on the spot! Thank Jon for the link! Now between my SugarSync and Titanium Media, well, I just don’t need DropSnap.

I just think that $4 is a bit much for a syncing app when you can get 5.5GB of automatic syncing storage for free by following my referral link.

No, it doesn’t sync instantly. Stop spreading misinformation – the
minimum window is 15 minutes, and it uses a different mechanism which
will wake up your phone every 15 min, while DropSnap doesn’t.
