I am running Froyo Droid 2.2 on the Eris and loving it. It runs much better than 2.1 and seems to contain all the sense extras of its predecessor. Root your phone & be free.

Does anyone know if the watered down Eris upgrade could handle the new BlueAnt Q2 Bluetooth that needs 2.2? I am dying to get that total voice command Bluetooth! Not sure if the contact list would xfer to the BlueAnt if no 2.2? Any takers on this one who know what's cooking?

It's made my wife's Eris MUCH faster, definitely. She was happy with the Eris until 2.1 which was very buggy, now her phone is as fast as my stock Droid. Very glad VZW provided this update to the Eris. It will keep her phone usable for quite some time even “as is” (no 2.2) . Surprised not more comments on the recent Eris update as it seemed to rollout to most everyone on Monday 7-19-2010…

Well I keep waiting for all the bugs “problems” to get a fix but it just seems to keep taking forever and nothing has improved. This is the worst phone I have ever owned. Unfortunately the 30 period had passed by the time I realized the phone was a lemmon. Good luck if you have one of these phones. Verizon doesn't tell its customers a phone is a lemmon and that is not good customer service. If you have a problem with a device you should let your customers know instead of letting them spend lots of money on a piece of crap.
