Good old supply and demand. When one or two companies control the market, they always find a way “run short” on supply as this is the easiest way to raise cost therefore increasing profit…

OLED is a 'cool' but rather garbage technology – it's the thin-filament lightbulb of display technologies – ie it is engineered to decay and be replaced. Additionally it's color reproduction and contrast are off-the-wall unrealistic. LCD ftw!

I also wish you could calibrate the touch screen. The Droid's screen is a bit inaccurate.

I doubt it… I was just joking, but it would be nice to have some settings to adjust especially as the screens get bigger and people use them more for watching movies.

Is that possible? I know that CNET said the Droid's colors were extremely accurate out of the box. If the screen could be calibrated then I would certainly pick AMOLED over LCD.
