Woke up this morning to find 2.1 update waiting for me. Under a groggy haze and not having my first cup of coffee, I installed right away without saving the zip to send to Kellex. Will send some pics to him in a bit when I can get my hands on a camera.

Kellex did you find out if the official 2.1 rom can be rooted or did they indeed put a block on this boot so you cannot root this!?

this gent. here just spoke for me, i rooted this last weekend and put Smoked Glass v6.0.1 (Android 2.1 – ESE53) cuz i was so tired of moto's bullshit, and how they would just laugh @ all the people on the moto facebook club or w/e when they would ask “hey any news of 2.1″. thats just not right to do that 2 people. so i was like “this is silly 2.1 is snafoo” and i rooted. also Root allows for WIFI TETHERING!!! and thats SOOOO handy:] (for those of you that don't know WIFI tethering turns your phone in to a wifi hotspot.)

pretty fast too [3.1down 0.99up]

I'm starting to speculate. Nobody has been able to save the update. Has not been posted on usenet or private trackers. Forums are dead or repetitive with the same info. People that say they got it are missing in action or show blurry cam pics. I can use photoshop and after effects and pull a hoax. I'm not flaming or talking trash, it's just that we have no DEFINITIVE proof. Sorry Kellex! I think your source burned you. But I hope not.

Its 1130 here in Pittsburgh and update time is coming closer and closer! Idk how this will work on the west coast, soo if I'm one of the lucky 9000 receiving the OTA very shortly here on the east coast ill be sure to let “yinz” all know how it goes. go to privacy… erase your flash card. then go to factory reset. than delete all data and apps. reload rom manager and updater. go to the root section of this site. then go to ” 2.0.1 from cynaogen video. carefully watch the video.. pause if need be… it took me an hour – but im back on stock.. granted i have to completely rebuild my phone… i put in helix just to play it safe,, market might take it down. u never know.
