  • Since the update, I have not been receiving phone calls. This is especially distressing because my sister was trying to reach me due to the death of my brother-in-law. Because of my phone not receiving calls it made an upsetting situation even worse for her.
This is a safety issue as well in addition to being upsetting. Most people do not have a landline anymore and not being able to make a phone call in an emergency or to be able to receive a phone call in an emergency is totally unacceptable. I have a Google pixel 7 pro and it is not a functioning phone right now. Is it going to take someone’s death because they can’t reach 911 to get this fixed? This is a real liability for Google.

  • I have a Pixel Pro 7. Update gave me no issues. Seemed to get better. I have US. Cellular. So don’t know what to tell you.

  • I have the 8 pro and I’ve noticed very poor call service since the update. I’m on Verizon and they haven’t been the best where I reside. That said, my ability to make and receive calls has been dramatically reduced since the update.

  • My pixel 8 now disconnects via blue Tooth from car and reconnects at Radom times . I have had top right icon all disappear too.

  • All is well with pixel 6 ???? unlocked T-Mobile so smooth like ???? butter ????

  • Nothing yet P8Pro on AT&T. Probably AT&T is holding it up or Google halted due to bugs

  • I had been having some issues with my Pixel 8 Pro connecting to a hidden SSID at work, but it seems to have fixed itself with the April update. No other major issues I’ve noticed so far.

  • P8P still have not seen anything, on ATT. Why can’t they at least give us an approximate drop date. I just bought this phone and it is full of bugs and I am hoping the update will squash some of them.

  • Created issues with overlay apps and apps that open new tabs in Chrome. Definitely feel like it’s a frustrating step back.

  • Unlocked P6Pro with no issues, except for the issues starting with the December update and battery drain, but no issues with what’s being described here.

  • Definitely calling issues and texts don’t come unless I toggle airplane mode. Pixel 7 on Verizon

    • Just for grins and giggles have your carrier check to see if you phone is activated correctly. My phone was doing the exact same thing and come to find out they had not completed all the steps to activate it on the network. Once they did my problems vanished.

  • My AT&T P6 still does not have the update. My VZW P7P has it and I don’t “think” i’ve experienced the missing text issues. It seems like everything is going through ok.

  • My wife’s Pixel 6a suddenly went bonkers last week. It can’t connect to mobile data – I can toggle it on and watch it as it toggles itself off. Several of the System menu items no longer work (Accounts and Reset Options come to mind), the 3-button navigation she prefers is broken except for the Back arrow, and it refuses to update apps or run backups. A trip to the Verizon store proved fruitless. She’s so unhappy with Google that I’m replacing her phone with a Samsung S24.

For the record, I’ve been running my Pixel 7 Pro on Android 14 beta software for months with practically no problems.

  • It broke the device connections between my Pixel 8 Pro and three Chromebooks (phone hub). It won’t show as an available device. Looking in the Google forums, it’s supposedly acknowledged as an issue.

  • March update borked my Pixel 7 (Xfinity Mobile). Calling out seems okay, but lots of super-delayed texts in/out and calls not coming in.

  • The March update completely wrecked my Pixel 8 Pro. It basically put it into an endless reboot cycle which continued even after a factory reset. Worked with Google Support and they eventually replaced it. My new device has been mostly fine. I haven’t had any issues with the April update.

    • This is why I will most likely never buy a phone that has a locked bootloader. I leave it unlocked. If a manufacturer update soft-bricks the phone (like what it sounds like your situation is), you can flash a factory image and save your phone. You can’t do that with a locked bootloader. Google bricked my Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7a going from Android 13 -> 14 a s well. Not soft brick, COMPLETELY bricked. So in some cases, even having an unlocked bootloader won’t help but better than nothing.
